You sure you wanna let AA walk? Guy has an obvious skill set. I think you keep him around. If anything, a healthy scratch. We got the cap room.
Depends if we make the playoffs and how he does in the playoffs.

Right now we have a log jam of young talented forwards that should be making the jump here soon.

You want a bunch of project "making the jump" right before playoffs? I'm not sure it's the best idea to throw them right into the fire like that.

I thought we were talking about off-season moves. Not deadline deals.

Definitely wanna keep the depth for a playoff run.

Honestly, that's a really good question. I think if AA could be coached better I think you definitely keep him just because he does have a game breaking ability that no other player possesses on the Kings.

The only way Id really say no is if the stats suggest that he's a massive danger defensively.

For AA I think it comes down to one factor; impact on a trade. If a team like say Buffalo wants him as a toss in cause they want to give him a long look or possibly sign him ahead of FA I'm not holding up a deal that improves our team to keep AA. If the trade is just AA for a pick, yeah I'd pass on that. One injury to a top six forward and he suddenly doubles in value to us.

Well, I never said trade the guy. Just stating that I have limited expectations for his sustained contributions. This is his “good” stretch. I agree that he’s a fine as a healthy scratch depth option.

I admit that in the 2nd half of the season I have been anticipating a guy like Vilardi taking his spot a la Voynov/Jack Johnson, but that’s still to happen.

Glad to see Andersson getting a recall. Next move I'd make is sending Byfield back down and recalling Gabe. Byfield's not playing bad, but he's not producing either and Gabe deserves another look ahead of the deadline.

I could subscribe to this point of view. But if GV has been playing RW, who centers that line? They should keep GV on RW going forward.

I'd slide Gabe in with Lizotte and Kaliyev. People can say what they want but Kaliyev has steadily improved despite limited minutes and it's prepped him for a bigger role next year. Gabe's path up the depth chart should be faster than Kaliyev given his age but the starting point can still be the same.

Who's the next call-up if they need another D for Thursday? I'd imagine Strand, but it would be fun to see Spence get the call, even if it's only to the press box.

Anderson was on a conditioning stint so needed waivers to stay down right?
Andersson was on a conditioning stint after being on IR for a long period of time. Kings needed his permission to send him to the AHL on that conditioning stint, and the CBA only allows for a limited period of time they can "loan" him to the Reign on that stint before he came back to the Kings. He is paid his NHL wage while on the Reign for conditioning. If the Kings wanted to assign him to the Reign not related to conditioning, he would have to pass through waivers as he is no longer exempt.

Would love to see Spence slot in. Assuming Anderson is out and Doughty is in, I'd go:

Durzi - Doughty
Maatta - Roy
Bjornfot - Spence

But I'm guessing it'll just be Moverare slotting in for Anderson on the top pair, which is cool too.

Moverare's earned his chance. He played well in his brief stint and has been practicing with the team. Spence is where he should be at this time.

Trade for the summer
Roy for Hoglander +1st. Van
Roy for Peterka +1st. Buf

Maybe Buffalo wants to go crazy with
Roy + Kempe for Quinn. Add picks where needed. Podkolzin could be a target with Roy & Kempe too.

Like Roy, like his game. Someone is getting moved out of RD.

You think Roy can fetch a 1st and a prospect?

The D market is brutal right now & both Van & Buffalo are looking for a long term D to pair with their fancy defenders that don't play D too much.

Maybe I'm nuts, but would you rather have Roy or Risto? Don't think a 2nd or mid to late 1st gets the phone picked up for Roy.

Edit: Muzzin got a 1st + 2X 2nds? 1st + 2nd is less than Muzzin. Both Hoglander & Peterka were 2nd round picks.
