none of the injured making the trip per practice notes today -- things are gonna get ugly fast. Meanwhile, VGK plays the Kraken back to back.

i mean LA just played Seattle twice too.
Hopefully LA has put enough points in the bank. I would be more worried about vegas if they had a goalie or stone

I am hoping Brown is done and if anything the Kings keep the third line in tact. If they move Vilardi in a trade or back to the AHL I don’t mind seeing AA-Byfield-Kupari but not AA-Byfield-Brown.

why keep AA? May as well keep brown.

Kempe-Kopitar-Vilardi/Kupari
Moore-Danault-Arvidson
Iafallo-Byfeild-Vilarid/Kupari
Lemieux-Lizotte-Kaliyev
Brown

giddyup

I think Kaliyev slots into the top 6 next year....after that, who knows, 2nd line stays together and I think you see adjustments after that.

Anderson, and to a lesser extent Roy, get hammered around here a lot of the time. The difficulty we are having without them in the lineups speaks volumes. It's fun to watch Spence and Durzi creating out there, but it's obvious that this team wins games by keeping the puck out of the net.

I don't think that Durzi and Spence are necessarily the problem. They can still be in the lineup. But it's hard when the other guys on defense are Stetcher, an injured Edler, Moverare, and Maatta at times.

Anderson - Doughty
Durzi - Roy
Bjornfot - Spence

That's a much better defense than we've been rolling out lately.

JAD was up a few weeks ago and was ineffective and got line 1 minutes even a few games and did nothing.
Lias has better hands and has never got a top 6 chance.
Hopefully, AI comes out of the lineup.

The front office needs to get involved now, in game management who plays.

Given that they opted to skate with 11 forwards instead of playing Lias Andersson I would think there's a much simpler explanation... ?

You can only do an emergency recall if you have under 12 healthy fwds or under 6 healthy dmen - someone up front therefore must be injured. And:

Nope....it's just because TM hates Kaliyev....couldn't be injured...TM is just a bad coach and we are were we are despite him.....

Am I doing it right?

Anderson has been a bust. Waste of a 2nd.

I think it was worth a shot, but I believe you are right. Lias just looks like a classic AAAA player. He dominates the minor leagues but can't get through the great filter that is the NHL. JAD and Gabe will need to firmly establish themselves by next season or they will be in the same category.

Kaliyev should take another big jump in the next year or two. His shot is simply too good - and he has been working on the other facets of his game as well. Still loving the third line of Kupari/Byfield/Vilardi. The real issue is the consistency of our top line. If we had a true top line, we would literally have no issues.

Really bummed me out to hear TM's presser last night. From the mispronunciation of AK's name to the whole how you 'define' production....really frustrating to say the least. Will be interesting to see in the next couple years if the Kings don't get out of a certain round of the playoffs if RB will make a move on a new coach.

Right now Gabe is the only one of the 3 on track to do it. Not giving up on JAD, but with Vilardi you can see him make things happen, keep possession, create danger, etc. I haven't seen that with JAD yet.

As much as the NHL has sped up, size is still a huge consideration and it affects guys like JAD. Lizotte is really the only small guy who seems to handle the rigors of the NHL so far. JAD still struggles with the physicality. Spence is doing OK, but he gets moved around too easily. On one of the Kraken goals he just got pushed back into the slot so easily by the other player and the puck went in through the traffic. I'm hopeful he continues to gain strength and learn to use a lower center of gravity to move guys like Voynov did, but it's an uphill climb. I like watching the smaller, skilled guys but it's so much easier for a big guy like Gabe to have an impact just from his physical presence alone.

Identifying those AAAA guys and moving them for future assets or in a part of a trade is one of the more difficult parts of being a GM.

It is. But as much as I like watching Spence developing he's getting pushed around out there. Edler and Roy are fantastic together, if the team can hang on and hold it together that will be a playoff pairing. And for the last couple of months, Maatta has been fantastic.

If they make the playoffs and everyone is healthy, I don't think Spence nor Durzi will be in the lineup to start.

Pivoting to the LD question to be answered this summer, I'm starting to get excited about the prospect of landing Provorov instead of Chychrun. Granted, I have not watched either of them very closely, but here's my thought process:

• It seems Provorov could be had for significantly less than Chychrun. The 'Yotes are only going to move him if their high price is met, while Fletcher may be flying by the seat of his pants looking to actively shake things up in PHI.
• Provorov has a much more proven track record and is almost never injured, same cannot be said for Chychrun.
• While Chychrun is the flashier offensive minded player (and has an insane shot), Provorov is no slouch in either catagory. My intuition is that he's slightly better defensively too, though I'd be happier to listen to someone who's seen them both play more than I have.

What may not work is that Fletcher has stated he wants to get back to the playoffs next season, so a trade of all futures won't work. But we can probably base it around one of our RD (preferably Walker, but could be Roy or Durzi if the price is right) plus other pieces. Philly fans seem to have low confidence in Fletcher and also don't really know what he's looking for (1-for-1 hockey trade for a forward, multi piece deal that could be more heavy on roster players or promising young talent, etc). One thing they do seem to be in agreeance of is they're more likely to trade Provorov than Sanheim as he's played great with Ristolainen who just signed.

What do you all think of Provorov vs Chuchrun when baking in assumed price, cap hit, need, etc?

Not buying that Provorov could be had for significantly less than Chychrun just because Fletcher is looking to shake things up. I'd guess the price would be in the same ballpark, assuming they're even looking to move him.

My co-worker is a massive Philly fan and watches every game as does my cousin. They were both willing to trade Provorov to the Kings for a bag of pucks just to get him off the team. They absolutely hate hated him. I have not seen him play much at all and was more impressed with Sanheim in the games I watched.

Can any others that have watched more Philly games comment on Provorov?
