Chychrun also hasn’t done shit other than be IR Champion.
1/32 teams wins the Cup every year. Fiala hadn't won shit either when we acquired him. What's your "hasn't done shit" point?

I get the injury concern completely, but he's been on an awful team his entire career. Doughty sucked in the years we were tanking too; Chychrun's great numbers on a bad team tell me he's motivated to get somewhere where he actually could "do shit."

Not that its a great character reference, but does anyone think perhaps Chychrun plays a few more games each year if he's on a good team playing meaningful games instead of on the yotes?

Was it Sutter or Lombardi that talked about playing hurt but not playing injured.

The Kings need to do whatever it takes to get & sign Erik Portillo. Back to the well with a Sabres drafted non-signee. I'd consider giving up a small asset before the TDL in order to get his rights for a few months and get discussions going early. Maybe a late round pick (5-6th) or even a mid-level prospect. Assuming his rights don't get moved, lay the Rob Blake charm thick to sign this kid once he becomes a FA after the season.

This is a great spot for the kid -- unlike Buffalo with all their young goalies. He could be someone who comes in mid next season if one of Copley/Cal falters. I don't see us being able to bring in a goalie next season with any decent salary attached to him.

What do we do with Quick? Last night was an embarrassing display by on of the greatest warriors this team has ever had. Goaltending was the biggest difference in the game as one stood on his head and the other leaked weak goals and showed no confidence in his ability. His GAA is horrendous this year and his save % is so far below the .900 mark I don't know if one of his famous hot streaks could even get it back above the equator.

I have the utmost respect for the man, one of my favorite Kings ever. As it stands we are fighting for the playoffs and have one hell of an offence, a average defense and seems like we are true threats if Copley continues to play at the level he has been.

It also seems that a stint in the AHL has Pederson back on track. He may not be elite down there but take away the game he allowed 6 or 7 goals and his numbers are fantastic this last month.

Is it time to put Quick on waivers and replace him with Pederson? Is it disrespectful to the man to even think this might be an option? Is it to soon to bring Pederson back? If Copley keeps on the path he has we really are only looking for a backup to try and keep us in games and give as a sniff of winning.

No matter what happens my pre season thinking that Quick may be brought back as a backup next year at a reduced price is crushed. It looks like Father time has caught Quickie. Sad times for this fan.

His trade value. Muzzin was a proven pressure performer and winner. Chychrun needs an ambulance on standby every game and for all anyone knows will fold like a lawn chair when it matters. The ask is absurd.

What did you guys think about Ryan Graves last night?

He's a pending UFA. Would potentially be a good fit for the Kings.

There's nothing to do. They aren't going to waive him, his trade value probably isn't there anymore, and, let's be real, they probably wouldn't have traded him anyway. The only thing left to do is let him play out the year and see what he wants to do. The best-case scenario is he classes out the way Brown did and retires with grace.

I am all for this. Easy target to get to help restock the goalie pipeline and shouldn't cost much for his rights. Hell, the Sabres might also lose Ryan Johnson (LD) as well. Try to get both of them.

I think the Vejmelka trade idea could be solid. He is playing way above his teams level even though his stats don't show that. Signed to a very team friendly deal and could be a solid stop gap til Portillo is ready.

Arty is recovering from a broken foot. Yikes.

This is what drives me nuts about lack of injury updates in today‘s game. What was the reason they kept this from everyone? It’s not like an opposing team is going to target his foot now. It’s broken, he can’t play. Just tell us from the start instead of all the secrecy. And we found out before his return anyway.

I checked in on Turcotte - looks like he hasnt played since Jan 4th.. (prior to that he had 5 points in 5 games). Anyone with the scoop?

Because it's not our business. He's injured and can't play. You won't see him on the ice until he's healthy.

Health privacy should still be respected.

I read somewhere it was lower body and day to day...for about a week now. At least it's not upper body.
I hope hope hope he plays in Colorado, Tuesday and Wednesday. I am going to both games here, vs the Eagles.
I was at the game Englund concussed him. Sucked. I almost left the game, but stayed.

At least I can see Chromiak and wanting to see how Toby and Spence are atm...and the entire team, of course.
I know Spence will someday almost be Makar light - he's that good - okay, maybe Makar light, -1. But, if he continues to get better, he can be. (they had better not trade him) Toby - I am hoping for more and want to see him reach his potential.,

I like it...LD, shutdown, large body, plus/minus king... but would NJ be selling? If NJ doesnt see him in their future(ie next season and beyond), could pry him away but would prob have to overpay.

Thx for update. Yeah i saw that replay many times - disgusting - hate that about the AHL. Good news re lower body and day to day. The dude cannot stay healthy. Some guys just arent timex. Agree re Spence upside. He is ready.. his puck moving skills help nullify forechecks.. he would help this team now - its a shame he's not being used over Walker. Look fwd to your report from the games.

Its always been part of sports to learn injury status - and was obfuscated so when they come back those injuries arent targeted... I dont know, fans want info and its an element of interest. Its not like he has a yeast infection :)

Do we forget that Mitchell came here after a serious concussion at the age of 33? Or that Williams played in 53% of the games over a full 3 year period, which included his first full season here? Or that DL signed a known injury prone Gagne as an answer to a question in a contender year?

Granted, that's free agency, and in retrospect Williams didn't cost much, and apparently Chychrun would cost more, but Chychrun would also be younger than Williams when he got here by a couple years, and plays D instead of W.

Even Richards, there was a possible wrist issue he had that last year with the Flyers. DL also didn't even care that Richards played a type of game that his body wouldn't survive. Not like Richards ever looked 100% sturdy on the Kings.

Past results don't guarantee future something or other, but there's no perfect deal out there. Who knows what the real return will be for Chychrun. We go by various rumors, but with the lack of trades these days, the insider guys in the media have to justify their job somehow. No team is going to actually confirm what they say, so they can say whatever they want to get attention.

I'm not talking trade though. They're absolutely not going to trade him.

He's a UFA. If he explores the market, he could be a good target for the Bills.

Mitchell was signed for nothing. Williams was got for an obviously very broken Patrick O’Sullivan and a 2nd. That a far cry from the 3 firsts, two roster players and a no lube back door entry Arizona is asking for.

or the Nets. Thats about what I had in mind.. Soucy, Zadarov... some nasty that wont end up in the penalty box, just hard to play against
