NYR is in the standings up there but by most metrics they're middle of the pack, we have them beat SOUNDLY in every conceivable way, so while I don't particularly care because rankings are just fun, it flies in the face of his own regular reasoning

Brandt Clarke is 11th in the AHL in scoring and leads all defensemen. Turcotte is 23rd in scoring. Fagemo’s 5th in points per game (for players with more than 5 games played).

PLD needs forechecking on his line. He can protect but he sucks at recovery and passing. I don't think a pure shooter helps him at all

It was an idea. I didn't say it was a good idea.
If you look at Laferriere’s game log, he has put up exactly one point for every 5 game block. No points in this last four games. 1 assist, even plus minus in his last nine games. Just kinda taking up ice time.
He isn’t bad and has had some nice back checks, but he could use time in the AHL.

Agreed - he just needs time to develop. Going to be a very good player for us and has the size and presence to be a difference maker. I think Arvy/PLD/Turcotte could be interesting.
Think we will see him play hard tonight. I will start shitting on him when the team starts losing .
I’m not a big analytics guy but I’ve liked what I have seen from PLD. Points aren’t there playing basically third line and pp 2 now. He drives play tho and gains entry pretty well. Hasn’t been awful defensively either. I think he is a big factor in overall record which ultimately is more important than stat watching. I don’t think he has been a passenger at all.
Lafferiere is a smart player with great hands. It’s a matter of time before he starts putting them in. I imagine he goes back to the AHL when RV returns.

The analytics absolutely love him fwiw but even they say he's gotta shoot more (so it probably matches the eye test relatively well from that standpoint)
Like I said earlier I'm willing to give him some time to air it out but we didn't pay 8.5m for Jordan Staal.
