Forgot to mention this earlier. Kempe is listed week to week. He’s expected to return at some point in March with the other injured Kings players. So, GM Rob Blake won’t have cap relief to work with leading up to the Trade Deadline.
What this also likely means is that Turcotte will likely be sent down if Grundstrom, Arvy and Kempe return this month..
Maybe Rob finally decides to trade Turcotte, Kaliyev and our 1st for that bag of magic beans 🫘 he’s been eyeing for the past few years …. I truly hope he tries to move Grundstrom and/or Lizotte for say Yakov Trenin or maybe even Jordan Greenway with some retention..

Deal Grundstrom for any picks you can get, use picks to move up in draft.

Friedman's talk of adding grit and toughness concerns me. Not against it but it better be a player and not just a goon that will play 1 in 4 games.

Brandon Duhaime would be my choice. Minny has fallen 8 points out of a WC spot and he is a UFA at seasons end. I think they will look to move him if they cannot make up ground between now and the deadline.

Luke Kunin of the Sharks could be another name of interest. RFA at seasons end.

How does this concern you? The Kings are soft as shit.

The Oilers are looking to add grit and they already have Nurse, Desharnais, Kane, Hyman, Perry - and most of those guys bullied the Kings the past two playoffs already.

McEwen comes to mind.

The enforcer is basically dead.

Need a guy like Marcus Foligno not Reaves.

McEwen was a great trade, the Kings weren't going to be able to bring in anyone that was going to swing that series anyways, and he provided some great comedy on ice during his time with the Kings. One shift in particular where he mishandled a pass, made an errant pass and Stoll'ed one like a Buffalo Bills kicker, all while wearing his Larry Csonka facemask. I miss the guy.

I think everyone agrees the team could use some grit

the worry is blake trades for a 13th forward enforcer who doesn't actually move the needle but just wastes more assets

This roster needs a crouse a whole hell of a lot more than it needs a reaves

Absolutely

Remember our team toughness addition last trade deadline was Zach MacEwen

Perry is a weasel but LA have players currently on the roster that can take him.

As per Mayor--but of course we've been talking about it all year--Kings want to re-sign Roy.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. He's a great dman. But I also wonder what they have in mind for the left hand side because that's of a more immediate concern. It would also mean likely Spence is gone and that's the end of our once endless RHD pipeline to go with the wet fart end of our LHD 'pipeline'.

definitely putting the cart before the horse, but there keeps being expansion talks with Utah and Atlanta 3.0, LA needs to be mindful of NMC given out and how it could impact expansion.
