Starts off him snorting few stuff. Remember that movie with Michael Douglas where he just snaps and goes on beating the crap out of people. Falling Down

I don't think I have ever seen a Leafs GM just go on crazy mode. I expected these types of ferray from let's say Burke or Quinn. Even Fletcher had a habit of going a bit off script.

But this is the team we been wanting. A team that has a bit swagger, bit substance and lot of pushback if neccessary

I get this new feeling about this team that I haven't had in 20 years.

Great movie……something we would all like to do at some point in our lives

It appears he looked at our lineup, picked the players who struggle with a heavy game and told them to f*** off
He finally gave into our posts. Haha

the thing with chychrun is leafs would have needed to move salary out and i don't think that's what the coyotes wanted
I like how mean we got. It’s going to open up so much ice. The knock on effect is going to pay dividends as a series goes on.

God no.

Chychrun is an incremental upgrade, and McCabe fit more of the role the Leafs needed.

ROR was an impact upgrade.
Chychrun is better than everyone we got by far and would be an upgrade beyond this season. And now he went to a division rival instead.

I think dubas prioritized looking busy to save his job instead of making good trades for the right players. Even Ekholm could of been had and we'd be better off.

Agreed, not to mention Chychrun's durability issues. He's missed significant time every season throughout his career.

No, people are just enamoured with the shiny new toy/big name, fit be damned. And he just can't seem to stay healthy over the course of a season.

ROR is a bigger impact to the Leafs - it makes for matchup nightmares, and the Leafs have the cap space to bring him back.

The difference between Chychrun and McCabe is very much incremental because while Chychrun has a big shot and more offensive chops, he can't defend or kill penalties as well as McCabe.

Good player, not the best fit.

As an aside, I actually wonder why the Sens even bothered with Chabot and Sanderson already on LD.. That just pushed Sanderson down the depth chart for 2.5 more years. I wonder if we will see a Sandin type situation eventually developing with Sanderson.

That too. Ironically I just edited my post to say that. lol

JFC some of you haters are too much. LMAO.

And FYI, McCabe is also an "upgrade beyond this season", sheesh.

ROR not a good trade?

Arizona was taking no salary back and the Leafs couldn't do it.

Thats why Edm and Bos and the Kings all stalled. The Leafs were never getting Chychrun.

Beside Kane, ROR is literally the biggest impact player that are being traded at this TDL.
Some might say Orlov, or Meier or Horvat, but had any players changed the way their new team played?

Orlov and Hathaway are added to an already great structured Bruins team.
Meier is added to an already great scoring team.
And Jeannot is Jeannot, he is the not the difference between winning and losing a Cup for TB.

Kane is the other one that changed the Rangers like the way ROR did with the Leafs.

As I mentioned on another thread or this thread, as I forgot. All these moves Dubas did are great bc of ROR. Acciari, McCabe, Lafferty, Schenn, Gustafsson are all good solid pickups but if Dubas only got them, the Leafs is better but not great. With ROR, and these additions, they are great.

Not that I’m saying I agree, but changing a third of the roster at the trade deadline is a big overhaul in a short period of time. Dubas has finally figured it out and got what this team has needed for years. Here’s hoping it pay offs, and I think it will
I think Dubas finally realized that there are two types of hockey being played during the season and the playoffs. He thought he could ice a skilled but light lineup and still win up until this year. I give him props because a lot of GM's would have been stuck in their ideology and never changed it up.

I hope they all work out and we can do some damage this year...In the end...the big guys need to score and the bottom of the lineup needs to play big and chip in a few. The fact that he turfed Engvall is a good sign...they see what we see and now if Lafferty doesn't score in the playoffs, he can at least provide some sandpaper unlike what Petey did.

Lol look at Chychrun's injury history and tell me if you think he is a lock to survive an entire playoff run. A top 6 forward, two physical top 9 forwards, 1 top 4 defenseman and a really good depth defenseman is much better than one piece. The playoffs are going to be a bloodbath you need depth, especially on defense.

The last thing the Leafs needed was an offensive first D man with an injury history longer than my arm imo

I would rather have Hronek than Chychrun due to Hronek can play on the Right side.

Don’t know why some here think it is a miss opportunity with Chychrun, he is really not that good.
