Maybe a stretch pick with Tallinder, though I think he will have more of a role in NJ since Greene is really the only puck mover there. +/- should be nice as well.

Still looking to trade Heatley for a forward and defenseman. I will add CHI's 1st entry and/or later picks depending on the quality of the players.

What do you guys think, I haven't done one of these yet.

Lee Stepniak - Ryan Getzlaf - Johan Franzen
Andrew Ladd - Mike Fisher - Nicklas Bergfors
_______ - Alex Steen - _______
_______ - _______ - _______

Ian White - Kris Letang
Johnny Boychuk - Marc-Andre Bergeron
_______ - Jakub Kindl

Michael Leighton
_______

Personally, I really think I have a great defense, and solid enough goaltending. I think I need to work on my forwards, and plan to make a lot of trades to sure up my forward lines. I really do think the strenght of my team is the offensive potential of my defensive core.

Boychuk is already taken.

your really a Bobby Ryan hater lol. He is still plenty young to start putting up 70-85 points. I'm not saying if it is gonna happen or not, but you make it sound like he is such a bad player lol

I'm certainly not a hater, he is a 60 point player. 30G/30A power forward that can screen a goalie on the powerplay, pick up rebound goals and still has skill enough to be competent with the puck (unlike most pure power forwards - Hartnell I am looking at you buddy).

In fact, I was proposing a Carter for Ryan+ swap on behalf of the Flyers on our boards not that long ago. Due to his play style and his ties to the Philadelphia orginization (and mainly Bobby Clarke) it is a wet dream of mine for him to be a Flyer one day. In fantasy drafts I try to let my prejudices (except my strict anti Penguin rule) and my shaded glasses (except for my mancrush Carle) sit to the way side and see things how they really are.

Not a fan. You have 3 60 point players, and then Brassard and Filatov COULD be 50-60 point players. Kovalev and Peverley will probably get ~45 each. No clue why you picked Avery.

The defense is alright. Bogosian and Karlsson should develop into good point scorers (not sure about this upcoming season though). Kronwall will likely have a good +/-, but point total is always a question for him. Could be very good, or could get around 35 points. Lydman's +/- is a question on a new team, but should be good for 20-25 points.

Goaltending would be solid, if this weren't a Win/Loss fantasy league. Carolina and Florida have a very good chance to be bottom 5 teams in the league. Ward isn't a strong pick where he was taken. With Vokoun still in FLA, I don't think Markstrom will see much time.

In the end, you're banking on good seasons from guys who aren't very consistent/haven't proven anything significant. But as long as you like your team. :)

Thoughts?

I build from the net out and my goaltending and defence is stellar. Not too many big names at the forward position, but many guys who can be 70-80 point players very soon.

Like who? I only see 2, Pavelski and Wolski and that may even be a reach.

Vanek, Morrow and Ribeiro all had seasons not up to their usual standards, same with Bogosian, Kronwall, Ward and Kovalev. Buy low, sell high. I'd much rather pick a player who had a season off his usual totals than a player who had a career season. I picked Avery believing we were having enforcers, still he's good for around 40 points a season. Kovalev had an off year and still put up 49 points, he's closer to 60 than 45 IMO.

I believe Bogosian is going to have a huge breakout season like Doughty did this year. He was gold the first 20 games, than trailed off. The potential is there. Karlsson will most likely be partners with Sergei Gonchar on our PP so that means $ to me.

I have stated my opinion about the Canes many times and I think they're a playoff team next June. They had a terrible first half, but finished the year very strong. They were in contention for Hall a decent chunk of games into the season, but once Staal was named captain they took off. Very underrated team IMO.

JVR, Downie and Latendresse. If they all have good seasons they can.

The only one who even has a chance of doing that is JVR and he's not even close to that. Downie at best is a 50 point player and same with Latendresse.

Your team is young, that's for sure. I like your forwards, but in Kadri and MSP you are leaning on rookies who might not even make their respective teams, and Foligno may be stuck on the 4th line for us next season. I like Stastny and Kessel though, two real good forwards who will only get better. The offense is clearly built around those two.

I'm not a fan of the defense, Yandle is good for 40 points but again I don't know if McBain and Blum will make their teams, and even if they do, are they going to put up the numbers as rookies? I don't see much offense from Hamhuis on a deep Vancouver blueline. Giordano is a sleeper, good pick.

Your team's hopes are in Quick, if Bernier ends up #1, you are screwed but if I had to put money on either goaltending I'd bet on Quick. His cap hit could mean the difference on whether adding a Gomez/Campbell or a cheaper, less effective option. If Quick does indeed keep the #1 title for L.A, I'd say (with a few more pieces) you're a playoff team with a bright future.

Overall: B

McBain played 14 games last season and had 10 points. He's a lock to make Carolina's roster. As an Oiler fan I know that MPS has a very good chance of making the team also, and let's be honest here.. Kadri is making the leafs, no doubt about it. Wasn't so sure about Blum but now that Grebeshkov bolted to the KHL he's got a good chance at making the Preds.

The reason I took Hamhuis was because of +/-. Vancouver seems to have a lot of players these days in the top of that stat, Hamhuis is a defensive minded player which is why I think he'll have a very good + rating. He could have a little more offense in Vancouver also, you never know.

As for Quick, i'm not too worried about Bernier taking over as the #1 just yet.

Usually I dont draft very young teams but after seeing what was out there in the later picks I thought I had to switch it up a bit.

Sorry I haven't been around much these past few days to manage this league guys, been busy with other things (crashing weddings in swimsuits, getting "violated" by insanely hot chicks, etc).

All fun and games aside, the draft board has been updated to the best of my knowledge, if you guys wanna have a look over it to make sure that everything's ok and that I didn't miss anyones picks, that'd be great. If I have in fact missed someones pick, please let me know via PM.

I won't be around much today either, as I'm heading out to a staff party later (and I plan on drinking :P) so I probably won't be able to update the draft board tonight, we'll see. As for pick schedules, sorry I haven't posted those in a while, however I thought by now it'd be a pretty simple concept to understand, all you have to do is go to the draft board, see which round we're currently on (say its 14 for example). Atlanta picks first at 8:00, Dallas picks at 9:00, Anaheim picks at 10:00, etc. all the way til Montreal makes the last selection of the day at 10:00.

I will get back to making pick schedules tomorrow morning. Thanks for your patience guys.

Thoughts?? I think my weakness is at defense, but it could very well turn around. They are all expensive, but I think Schultz has value just because of his +/- and hopefully Odyua can turn it around and earn his salary.
