I like your first line, and it would be very scary if Little really broke out this year. Zajac isn't really a top line center, but Ovechkin probably makes up for it. I really think Turris is a bust (just my opinion). I love Hanzal as a third line center, but not so much as a top 6 player yet. Your D is decent, I don't Hedman will ever be top point producing dman. He's good for around 30 IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if Alzner breaks out this year though. He could be a prized pick up for you. Can't go wrong with Vokoun.

I don't think Turris is a bust. He is only 20-21 years old and had a good year in the AHL. From what I have heard, he is NHL ready now, he has put on some weight, he has started to play with an edge and might center the Coyotes second line behind Wolski. Hopefully that happens but if it doesn't, I still don't think you can consider him a bust. Bobby Ryan took a long time to reach the NHL and Karl Alzner, who was drafted in the same year as Turris is likely going to make it this year.

I guess I phrased what I meant incorrectly. I just feel Turris will be a bust once he gets the chance to be a regular NHL player. It's just a gut feeling. It's probably more based on his season two years ago with the Yotes. They probably brought him up too early. I just don't feel he can a PPG player, or even close to it at the NHL level. IMO, he'll turn out to be a bottom 6 guy.

I'd switch Stalberg and Brouwer, but very solid team
I wanted Ehrhoff though.

Pretty much what the others have said. If Little/Hedman have breakout years, this could be special. I see you traded Turris, though, since you posted this. IMO, you're a bit weak at center now. I don't think Hanzal is a #2C just yet.

Please guys, whats your thoughts?

Still like this lineup, contingent on Eberle making an impact in the NHL. If his success in the juniors can translate to a higher level, you've got a solid first line. I'm not convinced Lucic is a second-liner, though--I'd swap him and Smyth. Sound defensively, assuming Markov's injury hasn't killed his productivity, but your starting goalie isn't even sure to have a starting job in the NHL.

Let me know:

P. Kane - Bergeron - Hossa
Erat - B. Sutter - Stafford
xxxxx - xxxxx - Simmonds

Chara - Timonen
McCabe - xxxxx

Niemi

Bergeron's started to pick it back up since the concussion, but I don't think I'd be able to justify putting a guy who hasn't scored more than 70 points in 3 years+ on my first line. The rest of your offense, as well as your defence, looks great, but I'm also not sure if I'd take Niemi. I expect his numbers to plummet this year.

Thoughts on mine?

Tampa Bay, New Jersey and St. Louis all have 2 picks to make up. Respective GM's will be notified shortly.

San Jose was last on HF a week ago tomorrow, he has been sent multiple PM's already, but I will allow him until Saturday at 10:00am to show up and catch up on his picks or else he will be removed from this league.

In an attempt to see how high my entry draft pick will be, please rate my squad:

Doan(4.55)-Lecavalier(7.727)-Iginla(7)
Zherdev(2)-Roy(4)-Knuble(2.8)
-Dubinsky(1.85)-
-O'Reilly(0.9)-

Carle(3.4375)-Gilbert(4)
Bieksa(3.75)-
Cumiskey(0.6)-

Kiprusoff (5.833)

Hopefully everyone but IR thinks it sucks. :sarcasm:

Eberle's a first liner IF he's as good in the NHL as in juniors. That's a pretty big if.

I expect Iginla to have a slow start, but Lecavalier and Doan are both good choices. Zherdev is one of those low risk, high reward players that makes for a good pick. Not a fan of Knuble's, but that's just me.

Defensively, if Bieksa can get back to the numbers he posted in 08-09, you're set. Otherwise, he may be a bit of a headache. Gilbert and Carle are an excellent first pair, and Cumiskey is a bargain at his salary. Kipper, of course, was a huge steal. Still, I wouldn't touch any Flames this year, myself.

Bottom of the league team, your team is full of players that are waaaaaay past their primes, Lecavalier? Garbage. Iginla? Garbage.

Young rookies who have never proven anything at the highest level FTW!

:sarcasm:

In all reality though, I think your team is easily top-10, possibly top-5. You have one of my favourite top-six's in this league, and then you have Dubinsky who could get you 50 points or so as your 3rd line C.

Your D is pretty well-rounded as well, the only thing I'd be worried about are the +/-'s of Gilbert and Bieksa, but other then that I think you have an underrated group here that should get you a good amount of points. I had hoped that Cumiskey would have fallen a few more rounds so that I could have picked him up...

Having a top goalie doesn't hurt, either, and having been able to select him in the 5th round was, IMO, a steal.

Sick offense, your first line is amazing. Second line should rack up a good amount of points for you as well, Prospal is a good, cheap secondary scoring option, Stajan will get you a good amount of points too with the possibility of playing with Iginla (unless they put Jokinen there), and Alfie = god. Need I say more? :P

Your D is solid as well, Martin could rack up a ton of points playing in Pittsburgh, Staal should continue to improve, while Greene is very underrated IMO.

I'm not sold on Chris Mason as your starter, however...

Overall a well rounded team.

What do you guys think so far?

You have some big reaches at forward (ie. guys on higher lines than they will likely produce for), your defense is very solid at the moment, but I expect Rask to only start about 50 games next year (Bruins won't pay Thomas 5M to play 10 games).

Your 1st line consists of the best player in the league, a 2nd line center and a 3rd line center. Your 2nd line consists of an AHL callup and a 3rd line center. Your defense has only one guy who even MAY score over 30 points next year (Robidas) and you have a superstar goalie who will be lucky to get 30 wins on a brutal team.

Pretty good top 6, but you are placing too much faith in two young guys on your top line, Smyth is devalued as a 3rd line winger, though. Solid defense, but again, too much faith in an unproven commodity in Gunnarson and too much expectation for Wideman who didn't score much for the Bruins and is now heading to Florida... where +/-'s go to die, also an unproven goalie who worst case is a backup and best case splits 50/50 with Quick.

Great first line, solid 2nd line, good start to your 3rd line, very good 1st pairing defense, but you better pray Niemi doesn't price himself out of Chicago's pockets or else he will be a backup somewhere.

Damn, was hoping to get 1 of Boychuk or Franson with my next pick.

Yup I debated between them both, but went with Boychuk due to Wideman being traded. Possibility of playing with Chara is too good to pass up.
