No injury updates heading into the playoffs because they dont want other teams to know.

But I dont think we'll see him on the ice against Philly.

The fact that the cast is off and that he was practicing before the Montreal trip is actually very promising.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw him mid-series.

I'd say probably second round. However if this series goes 6 or 7 games he might be back by then

I think its at least another 2 weeks, yes he has a glove on his second hand and is gripping a stick, but I doubt its much more than just closing his hand gently.

did we ever find out what actually happened to McD's Shoulder? I was assuming a sprained ligament or soemthing

Since Kreider required surgery, and wears a cast, I suspect a wrist/thumb ligament injury. This stuff can take up to 3 months to heal 100% if it was torn...

He will not be back until the end of the second round the earliest. Rangers are planning on having him for the conference finals for sure. Take that as gospel. Don't ask me how I know cause I'm not going to say. But there u go.

if it was torn completely? I'd assume a partial tear could take less time to heal

Well damn.

I'm glad they're resting him and letting his hand heal properly, but we really could have used his physicality. Flyers only worry me on that aspect. You know they're gonna run McDonagh constantly and try to get him out. Not that Kreider or anyone would be a deterrent but some push back wouldn't hurt. Kreids banging into giroux a lot, etc. quid pro quo.

Good & bad.

Glad they are not rushing it.

Wish we had that big body and speed in the line up. Especially as Kreider has shown that he can perform in big games. By the time he does get back the Rangers will really need a body that has not been banged up.

In my mind this has been a 8-12 week deal since the second he had surgery. Guys who have their hands surgically repaired are not ready to go in a month.

Thanks for passing this along.

I wouldn't trust a journalist, this article is obviously based on what he thinks..

You are also under the impression that this injury will sideline Kreider for like the next 5 years... so.....
excuse me while I put slightly more credence in a guy whose job it is to find out this type of information.

The article didn't rule out that Kreider could be back earlier. I'm not sure how much time the writer spent getting this information.

So an article of he will be ready by the 2nd round, and someone here hinting at inside knowledge of after the 2nd round. So about another 2 1/2-4 1/2 weeks
