This injury pisses me off.

The team waited nearly 2 weeks to get him surgery, and since there's been barely a peep. Kreider is a necessity if we pass Round 1.

If he got surgery immediately, he would probably be back by the middle of round 2, but he didn't so all of that is a moot point anyway.

Everything points to him returning in the next round and a half.

He was skating, gripping the stick (albeit lightly), 2 weeks ago.

I've just repeated what has been said earlier. One article had him back for the 2nd round, ONE POSTER HERE hinted at inside knowledge saying he was targeting the 3rd round to come back. So like I said earlier in this thread another week and a half to 3 weeks. April 28th would make it 1 month from surgery.

Pretty sure I heard Sam Rosen say two seperate times when asked, Kreider would for sure miss the 1st round but will play if the Rangers advance to round 2 vs pens/cbj

Kreider skated with scratches today, although still only taking 1 handed shots.

Promising but not really all at the same time....

He is going to be taking 2 handed shots for awhile before coming back into the lineup, so ya not really that promising

Definite "for a while" please?

The start of Round 2 should be in exactly a week, give or take a day. That series will go 1-2 weeks, depending on whether it's 4 games or 7. If Kreider is ready in 2 weeks, he'll be joining the team midway through the second round.

That's what I think too. At most, I think he'll need 4-5 days of practicing under contact to be ready. And contact should come 4-5 days after he's ready to shoot w/ 2 hands. I'm not doctor though, random time frame that i've established in my mind. Could over/understate the actual time frame.

A torn ligament in the hand (if that is the case here) can take up to 3 months to heal after surgery.

Then I don't see him back in the lineup until October, at the start of next season, if he's still on the roster.

Why wouldn't he be on the roster?

Thats exactly the time frame that I posted a little above. Once he starts shooting with 2-hands I think it will take him about a week of shooting, and a few days of full contact practice. So my time frame was during round 2/start of round 3. Sorry for not being detailed lol

Edit- It also depends on how his hand reacts to shooting, so it is hard to accurately predict.
