Hopefully when kreider is back Dorsett is scratched with carcillo playing 4th line and kreider replaces Nash on 1st line with Nash going to rich and hags line. I wouldn't split st Louis and stepan they look good together

What about reuniting the 62-21-61 line that worked well in the past?

62-21-61
20-19-26
67-16-36
22-28-13

Until I hear someone tell me they have seen Kreider shooting in practice I do not have confidence he will be back in this series.

He was shooting "light wristers" yesterday. He's likely a little under a week away.

...

I'm bad with player numbers...but I would love to see:

Nash - Stepan - MSL
Pouliot - Brassard - Zucc
Kreider - Richards - Hagelin
Boyle - Moore - Carcillo

So Dorsett is out...Carcillo is a bit better, especially in playoffs.

I feel this will give us 4 lines that can score. To me, that is the only way we beat Pitt. You know their top guys will score some goals (Malkin, Crosby, Neal). But so far in the playoffs we have 13 forwards with at least 1 point, Pitt only has 10 forwards with at least 1 point.

Also, Pitt's D is very suspect, especially in terms of depth. We know Martin-Orpik pair is solid. But Letang has been making mistakes all throughout round 1 and can be exposed since he pinches in too much sometimes. They also have a rookie in Maatta, who while playing well, lacks playoff experience. Finally, Orpik is "doubtful for game 1" according to TSN!

So to expose their 2nd and 3rd D pairings, we need our 2nd,3rd, and 4th lines to score. For that we need 4 good lines.

Rangers win in 6!:yo:

I"m curious as to whether he still has a brace on actually. Kind of hard to shoot and stickhandle and untie your skates if you have a big bulky brace on

Chris Kreider: (Hand) Skates Wednesday

Posted on April 30, 2014 at 10:17 AM

NEWS UPDATE

Kreider (hand) skated and took shots Wednesday, the New York Daily News reports.

ROTOWIRE FANTASY ANALYSIS

Kreider won’t play in Wednesday’s Game 7 against the Flyers, but if the Rangers win and move on to Round 2, the team is hopeful that Kreider will be able to return to face the Penguins. The winger had 17 goals and 20 assists in 66 games before getting hurt.

Hmm, scratching Dorsett would be tough for me but i guess hes the odd man out. Hes been hitting everything in sight. One of the only guys finishing his checks, but Carcillo does the same and has been scoring, so...

I hear you, but Kreider brings a dynamism that this team will desperately need against the Pens, so SOMEbody has to sit. My thought is give Chris at least one more game off to make sure he's not coming back too early and then put him in for game 2, moving Dorsett to the press box then (presuming no injuries to another forward in the meantime).

Seems like the 4th line scores a little more( nice to say that for a change)and has more offensive zone pressure when Carcilllo is on that line. Nothing against DD but the line dynamic is different when he is on it compared to Carcillo.

I would just put Kreids on the Richie line in place of Carcillo and then move DC to the 4th line wit Dorsett being the odd man out. I wouldn't make a lot of changes to the lines now that wherein the 2nd rd. Even though Nash hasn't scored that line looked its best it ever has last night

Kreider's conditioning should be fine. Ariel had worked him hard in skating drills. He won't be in game shape. Tomorrow is 5 weeks since the surgery.

Carbomb can actually finish though. His game is simple. Get to the front of the net. You could probably throw Carbomb on the power play and we'd see good things happen because good things happen when you stay in front of the goalie.

Completely disagree.

Didn't read the conversation but I think that at worst case scenario, a Carcillo for Dorsett swap would mean absolutely nothing.

Best case is over the course of a 7 game series, Carcillo bangs you home 2 goals and Dorsett would not be able to do that.

Carcillo's shot is better. More accurate.

The trade off is that while Dorsett can provide energy more consistently, Carcillo is less prone to taking stupider penalties.

In the end, I think you end up with the same exact 4th line dynamic, with either player in there.

I was originally optimistic Kreider would be back for start of round 2, but I dont think we see him, especially with these tight schedule.

I agree. There's a rehab period, and then he needs a lot of practice.

But people wont listen to this.

Fwiw, someone just asked Boomer if he heard anything about Kreider and if he'd be back this series or soon, Boomer dodged the question but didn't sound negative about it just said he couldn't say and didn't want to break peoples confidence in him.

The way I read that, if things didn't look good on the injury front I feel like he would have just said it doesn't look good, but since the pens would have to plan for him, putting it out there that he would be back soon wouldn't be something the team wants out there, hopefully he'll be back soon:)

I think the earliest we see him is Game 4 or 5.
