I hear you, but Kreider brings a dynamism that this team will desperately need against the Pens, so SOMEbody has to sit. My thought is give Chris at least one more game off to make sure he's not coming back too early and then put him in for game 2, moving Dorsett to the press box then (presuming no injuries to another forward in the meantime).

My feeling is Kreider will not be back until game 6 or 7 if this series goes that far. He has started shooting and stick handling but he was shooting very softly.

Didn't read the conversation but I think that at worst case scenario, a Carcillo for Dorsett swap would mean absolutely nothing.

Best case is over the course of a 7 game series, Carcillo bangs you home 2 goals and Dorsett would not be able to do that.

Carcillo's shot is better. More accurate.

The trade off is that while Dorsett can provide energy more consistently, Carcillo is less prone to taking stupider penalties.

In the end, I think you end up with the same exact 4th line dynamic, with either player in there.

Oh, I agree on the Carcillo > Dorsett thing. But Carcillo on the powerplay, absolutely not.

My feeling is Game 4, but im not sure how effective hell be. Itl take time for his hands to come back, but you have to put him in for his speed and size alone.

Yeah his forechecking alone would improve us. With the scheduling in this series I don't even know if the Rangers will have real practices for Kreider to participate in. I said Game 4 or 5, but I think that is the optimistic side.

Fwiw, someone just asked Boomer if he heard anything about Kreider and if he'd be back this series or soon, Boomer dodged the question but didn't sound negative about it just said he couldn't say and didn't want to break peoples confidence in him.

The way I read that, if things didn't look good on the injury front I feel like he would have just said it doesn't look good, but since the pens would have to plan for him, putting it out there that he would be back soon wouldn't be something the team wants out there, hopefully he'll be back soon:)

I heard it too. I took the same meaning out of it.

Hands probably going to be sore.

I would think that depending on the pain threshold that he has in conjunction to the teams fortunes during the first 3 games, we may not see Kreider until games 6 or 7.

If the Rangers are fortunate to take one of two in Pitt, I would think it moves CK's PO debut back.

If the Rangers steal BOTH games in Pitt, barring a complete collapse I doubt we see him this series at all and let him come back with out any discomfort at all.

He's no saviour, but if we are down 2-1 I could see him being asked to come in for game 4

Stickhandling and shooting better today according to Gross
Thats encouraging news. If he was still shooting very softly and not stickhandling then i woudl be worried but its good to seem him improving. He has been skating hard for weeks so his conditioning should be fine. Id say Game 4 or 5 is a real possibility as long as there are no major setbacks

Chris Kreider's status for round 2. Surgery was 31 days ago. He took light shots on Wed. Guess is sometime in series.

I'm guessing game 4 or 5. A couple days ago I guessed 3 or 4, but with the back to back, I think 5 comes into realistic view too.

Don't they have like five scratches a game now? Definitely some bodies around.

Kreider will be back for the third round cause the Rangers are taking this in 4 games. Just wishful thinking

I would rather save Kreider for the Bruins/Habs since we will need his physicality. Hopefully we can win game 2 and take control of this series

Anything to read into the fact that there is a Kreider nameplate in the Rangers locker room at Consol Energy Center?

I'd take Kreider over Nash right now instead of Dorsett and Carcillo... based on how they have been playing... not contract and rep
