Confirmed with Link: Kravtsov to Vancouver

Is there anything more easy than acting a certain way, without actually being that way?

Rookies get prepared for interviews and reading people and their intentions is usually a very hard thing to do. Specially in a situation where both parties want to benefit from each other.

Didn't work for Lias, who has basically the same problem as Krav.

I'd be surprised if he's not playing in Russia by this time next year, but if he manages to stick in Vancouver good for him I guess. It obviously wasn't working in NY.

That's what combines are for. Tests on endurance and team interviews. And when prospects talk about weird questions - the reason is to get them out of comfort zone and see how they'd react. I don't get how this Russian primadonna was able to avoid it. We heard that Drury did fly to interview Kravtsov but Bobrov was probably acting as a translator and it's all you need to know.

I could see Drury asking Kravstov about his desire to win, and Vitali saying in Russian that he wants his own hotel room on the road, with Match Box cars and a train set.

Bobrov translates that into Vitali wants to Match everybody's best in off ice conditioning and that he trains 6x a day.

Agreed. Like spending 5 mins talking to him

This is the same club who drafted MacIlrath saying he was a great young man & tough as nails.

So when these kids bust I always think "Well they must be good guys... the org desires good personalities... good character"

Then you get Lias & bitch baby Krav & wonder how they miss on ALL the aspects

I think even Larry recently used the word “personable” talking about Kravtsov. It’s definitely possible to be a pleasant, charming dude and a kinda shitty employee/co-worker

I guess they do talk to the prospect but that interview is mostly scripted, so you won't get any real idea of the person.
With Lias, honestly the tape was not impressive at all, and we got to hear afterwards that is was a personality pick. They liked his attitude.
Well f*** me, how about we first look only at the skill. Then if that checks out, interview the kid off script.

i think he's also the first true zoomer prospect that we (as an org, as fans, as whatever) have dealt with. social media savvy and sensitive and /r/antiwork. i'm a union guy and pretty pro workers rights so i think it's great in a way. but the kid needs to man up and play some good hockey.
