Nice game. Very entertaining until the last moment. Dull 2nd period. I think Drury will be very active. He might start after next Tuesdays game with a first deal. Edmonton?
Regarding dinner, had a big kidney stone attack on Sunday evening. Been drinking only water and eating some white bread. Plus some lovely meds that keep me Comfortably Numb. 6th time I got this. Know the procedure pretty well now, not recommended nor wished upon (almost) anyone I might add

you got some inside info kind sir ?

Sorry about that. I didnt know you were a "stoner". Again, sorry

This is always a reason we don’t get easy wins. Teams/certain players come to MSG and they play lights out. It’s like their version of a playoff game to come in and beat the rangers...
How many times have we seen it with no name 3rd string goalies or kids getting their 1st call up?
Happy to hear about Barron. Don’t know what happened with LaF, I’ll save my analysis til I can watch later
This was my yesterdays gdt post at 3pm.
couple things.....

1. Rangers 8-0-0 @Home vs Eastern foes
2. Haven't played Pitt, Wash., Car. NYI (Isn't that odd?) Bos.,Det. or Ottawa
Only 4-3-2 vs West
(teams that dont visit NY often really DO "Get UP and RISE to the occasion in playing in OUR house!

3. Bet its Lindgren banged up. (what else is new?)
4. GOAT on 2nd PP? I suppose there for retrieval AND/OR planting in front ala Kreids with less hands. lol.
irrelevant though, they see very little PP time.
5. Okay, more than a couple, sorry.

"Ugrrnn swoop swoop jam 5-hole again? Ya here goes" -ryan Strome definitely.

Strome would probably be a lot more likely to give a 5 minute response about the importance of choosing your move before you go rather than struggle with the uncertainty of trying to pick a spot last minute based on what the goalie is doing.

Kidney stones are murder. I've had one pass. Years later I had a second one and besides the water I drank full glasses of lemon juice. Apparently the acid blasts and decomposes the stones. It worked for me anyways. Hope you're feeling better soon.

They just have to play better. Playoffs are the expectation at this point. The eight teams are basically locked. But, they are going out 4-1, 4-2 in Round 1 if this continues.

You wonder. Four playoff teams in the Metro - Carolina will be tough. Pittsburgh & Washington it's hard to say.

We’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Got to make the playoffs first and how they are playing are getting positive results.
They are in the playoffs. The Rangers can hang with some of the playoff teams, but not the elite ones. As it stands now they don't play Carolina in the first round.

I know people hate on him but Laffy is getting fukd on. He needs to be in the top6. Get your head out of you ass Gallant

Barron belongs. Stop taking him out for career AHL scrubs

Hajek >> Nemeth.

I can't wait for Gallant to get all these moves wrong on Thursday
Nailed it

This team battles back. Three games, 2/3 success rate. Great to see.

Lots to like tonight despite some of the sloppiness.

Even Hajek-Schneider as a pairing was surprisingly solid. Hajek had some good shifts.

Shesty is ice-cold and doesn't get rattled. Makes the big saves.
Hajek is good; too much grief for this guy. His skating is a plus skill.

Yet they still have 60 points.

It's almost as if they make the right moves to improve the team 5v5, they could actually be really good!

I have an extremely hard time believing that's possible. The 5v5 issues are too deep rooted.

Panarin and Zibanejad are being opportunistic but aren't driving play. Kreider never drives play, he just parks it in front and deflects shots in, which has to come from other players' possession of the puck. Laf and Kakko and Chytil have not arrived yet. Bottom end players like Goodrow, Rooney, etc, just don't generate enough offense and never will.

I don't think adding a Hertl into the lineup and a Gauthier out of the lineup changes nearly enough. You still have all the same problems.

What you need is the maturation of 3-4 of your young stars into offensive possession and shot generators (Kakko, Laf, Chytil, maybe Kravtsov) and the arrival of plus players from your system (Barron, Panjuniemi, etc) to fill out the bottom and replace the black holes down there.

It is at that point that adding an icing on the cake piece becomes attractive.

Until then the team is going to have the same problems. Hertl isn't going to have the impact people think; he's way more likely to get lost in the wash.

Thought his penalty was a clean hit, not boarding. It is good to see some physicality in his game. Sooner or later he will put it all together and be an awesome player
Seems immediate "stardom" doesnt happen with our Rangers (except in goaltenders where it is MOST important), point is....it really is better off that way. Me thinks "if it is indeed by design" its borderline brilliant albeit NOT very popular with the fan base.
This organization wants legit 200 ft players. Players that become PRO's in every sense of the word.
handing them 20 minutes a night, PP time and whatever else......kind of feeds into their EGO, and is sometimes a necessity with LOSING teams and cultures, just to pacify THEIR fan bases as they have little else. the RANGERS don't have to do such. There is talent everywhere and we win W/O major contributions from the Chtil's, Laf's and Kappo's.
I for one, am patient.....BUT, there needs to be a little letting loose of the reigns at some point. I am certain at some point, they will loosen em'.
