Hajek looked strangely confident to me tonight. I'm not sure if I was seeing things, or if I am just used to seeing Nemeth on the 3rd pair.

hajek seems to be fine on home ice. That’s just my eyes but seems like it’s road games that he really struggles

Thought for sure it was Jagr, but then I looked it up and remembered that was Cheechoos' fluke season where he scored 56 goals somehow.
I also thought that it was Jagr but it was on of Patrick’s in a 48 game season.
Can’t believe it has been that long

I mean they would probably be distracting for the Kings too if that's the case.

Why would it distract the Kings? They're not shooting on their own goalie. There's a reason why chrome reflective paint isn't allowed on road vehicles. Honestly they just looked stupid as shit, but players probably shouldn't be wearing mirrors as part of their uniform.

And he won the trophy in the last week of the season. That was the year Joe Thorton led the league with 125 points and 96 assists. That's the only reason Cheechoo did well that year. Jagr just missed in both total points and goals.

Did the Kings draft Starbuck? The cylon helmets were the worst.

I just wish they would have lost by 10 goals as punishment for wearing those stupid ass things.

When they put those things on they have to shout Nanoo Nanoo and flap their elbows like chicken wings - it's in their contracts.

Nice game. Very entertaining until the last moment. Dull 2nd period. I think Drury will be very active. He might start after next Tuesdays game with a first deal. Edmonton?
Regarding dinner, had a big kidney stone attack on Sunday evening. Been drinking only water and eating some white bread. Plus some lovely meds that keep me Comfortably Numb. 6th time I got this. Know the procedure pretty well now, not recommended nor wished upon (almost) anyone I might add

If Laffy didn't score that, we'd never have heard the end of it.
Biggest pressure moment of Laf's NHL career: center ice at MSG with no one else around him to take the heat, right after Byfield scored a beautiful goal and Laf delivered. He was on a shit line with shit minutes but played his 3d/4th line role including destroying Dustin Brown on a clean hit that was bizarrely penalized. The Rangers PO run this year will do wonders for him in understanding the speed of the NHL game and what it takes to win in the postseason. In my opinion, he is completely untouchable as a trade chip for now.

Outside of the top guys, who are aces every night it seems, I liked Barron & Schneider’s games a lot. They shouldn’t come out of the lineup. Hajek was strangely good too
Agreed, Barron, Schneider and Hajek should play. I like Nemeth and he's a great insurance policy who can step in at a minute's notice. I also liked the poster who said to spell Reaves more often as the season gets into the latter half to save him for the POs. You need an effective 4th line in the postseason and Reaves and Rooney are damn good at disrupting and wearing down the other team's D while not giving up too many against.

Tougher match-ups and he wilts under heavy, hard hits. Pairing him with Schneider is good because there is less chance of getting hemmed in for long periods with Schneider able to make better plays to get the puck out.

"it was my first shootout in my 10 year career and then my 2nd tonight, I came up with a few moves and got the goalie to bite then tried to put it in the empty net, it didn't go tonight on a tougher angle" - Chris Kreider, basically

"I hadn't taken a shootout since junior, I had 2 moves in mind, I felt like this one was it and I roofed it cash money" -Adam fox, apparently

"Well you know, I ask Georgie what kind of move I might go with and you know, I have a few moves and Quick bit pretty hard on a few moves so far in the shootout so I try to do what I'm seeing" - possibly Lafreniere

"It's a secret, I don't tell you" -artemi panarin essentially

"Ugrrnn swoop swoop jam 5-hole again? Ya here goes" -ryan Strome definitely.

Kakko has been in the top6 ALL season. He has been nothing spectacular but Gallant has shown patience with him....

Where is it with Laffy? IMO Laffy has been showing way more than Kakko... where's his chance? and patience? He looks good in the top6 but it lasts 4 periods.

It’s just such a hard league to be consistent with to start with, and if you don’t get ice time on the special teams, entire periods will fly away with just the odd shift. 5 on 5 scoring is always streaky.

I think it comes down to that we must get these guys time on the PP. If either Kakko or Laf played on the PP they would have produced — a lot — more. No doubt about that. With PP time comes production and more puck touches which equals confidence and carries over.

Hang in there!

There is a significant difference between Hajek with a RHS partner and Hajek on the right or with a lefty next to him.
