I thought Laf had a good game idk why he got benched. But I do notice that Gallant is harder on Laf than anyone else. Maybe it’s because he knows his potential and wants him to reach his ceiling.

Maybe gallant is hard because he knows he can lead the team.
100%

he got shit on. He didn't play like the last 10 minutes of the 1st period? Or something ridiculous like that. He did nothing wrong but essentially got benched. He didn't get any ice in the 3rd either... and of course no time in OT.

The Byfield-Lafreniere matchup in the 6th round is one of my favorite moments of the season. Out of a book

Who was the first pick?

So I don't know what the fancy stats say but this was one of the rare games that Shesterkin was the second best goalie out there. And not because he did anything wrong. Quick was that good. But I bet the fancy stats aren't that kind to the Rangers.
Quick has been slipping a bit the last few years but I've seen him put in the odd incredible game. He made some nice saves tonight.

He lurches around the ice so awkwardly, friggin' hate how he plays goalie, but he had a good game tonight

on the other hand he did get put out there with the game on the line in the shootout

We need to be treating our most prized prospect, in the history of the organization, better.

If he's been a detriment, I get it. But he's been engaged and skating. WE NEED to get him going and producing.

We talk about adding secondary scoring, I'll take secondary shots at this point.

Kakko has been in the top6 ALL season. He has been nothing spectacular but Gallant has shown patience with him....

Where is it with Laffy? IMO Laffy has been showing way more than Kakko... where's his chance? and patience? He looks good in the top6 but it lasts 4 periods.

Gallant is tough on Laf and Chytil because he wants them to be the 2nd line next season. It's obvious.

I know people hate on him but Laffy is getting fukd on. He needs to be in the top6. Get your head out of you ass Gallant

Barron belongs. Stop taking him out for career AHL scrubs

Hajek >> Nemeth.

I can't wait for Gallant to get all these moves wrong on Thursday
From the LAK board:
"Not even 9 minutes for Byfield in 65 minutes of hockey, f*** off McLellan"

We're all the same))

I think it's more complicated than you realize. If you watched Turks presser the other night he touched on what's going on with the lines and in a nutshell I believe he was saying....it's complicated. He used the word "we " in mentioning who was making the decisions and what they were discussing and I think Drury is part of that we. Give him a little more time and I think you will see him get it right one way or the other.

Difference is we gave the time to Gauthier instead.

I wouldn't mind if Laffy was moved up with Barron instead of Hunt. He was playing with McKegg and Reaves for Gods sake.... that's unacceptable

I’m sure the fancy stats didn’t like this game. I thought they played well overall. Quick kept them in it. Panarin crossbar goes in and this game looks completely different.

I had issues with how Quinn used Laf last year. Last year always felt like a development/throwaway year to me. This year is different. The team is good. Can’t be f***ing around too much trying to drag the kids along.

Really happy Laf scored tonight because he might have spiraled out of the league otherwise. Huge pressure moment for him.

I do agree but Laf also has to find a way to gain some consistency and keep producing when he finds his comfort spot. He seems to keep bouncing in and out of that (though moving him around the lineup doesn't help either)
