Don't disagree that Dach is part of the solution for the C-line, whether as 2C or, even, if he progresses that way, as an eventual big-bodied 1C, but I still don't see, at 22, the do or die approach to implying C or nothing all year.

Honestly believe he can be of service to Caufield and Suzuki (and to himself) at RW to start the season, with, while healthy, Monahan handling the 2nd line as the pivot there.

All the pseudo experts bawling at the idea and insisting this would scrap his career as a C are just hilarious to read.

I still l think that Monahan will be traded at the deadline and Dach, fresh off a confidence boosting stint alongside the dynamic duo of Caufield and Suzuki, would be in perfect position to take over the 2nd line pivot role at that point.

Everyone else will have that much more experience to round out the roster in Montreal at that point as well, whether it be the youngsters at the NHL level, or those in Laval.

He's poised for a breakout season. Needs to be healthy.

Josh Anderson also poised for a breakout season if healthy.

I hope dachs off season shot training will pay off this year. If he can be the one to make Slaf go, that's a bonus. But dude is the perfect player besides having an elite shot. Also defensively responsible which makes matchups easier in the future when the team is ready to compete

Good times.

I had no problem with the trade then. It's looking even better now. The only worry for some was his injured wrist, but he has dispelled those misgivings. Outrageous steal. No wonder Toews was annoyed with this trade.
