What I love the most about Dach is how unrelentless he is on pucks. Really showed on Slaf's goal. He has good work ethic, a good reach and he's unmovable. He's becoming a really good physical, 2-way center and I'm all aboard the hype train.

Just needs to trust his shot more!

He just keep looking better and better. Super excited to see what he can do this season.

He can still play with Suzuki and Caufield on the PP this season, but I really think it's time to give Dach his own line to play as a center.

I can see Newhook playing a lot with Dach this season.
He's kinda outgrown them. Loading up a 1st line is pure entertainment but they need to think about development at C. That stint with the Suzuki and Caufield helped him with his confidence but it's not needed anymore

He’s a beast. Always was. Remember when some were saying he’s soft? LOL

Last year preseason I was so frustrated with him. He was getting pushed around and abused. He completely turned it around during the year and has been getting better since. He is so strong, he is a bull out there. I haven't seen a Habs center play like this since the 90s.

I still think Newhook looks best at C, so that means third lineC role, IMO:

I really like:

Slafkovsky - Dach - Monahan

AND

RHP - Newhook - Anderson

as lines.

Leaves us wondering who should be RW with Caufield and Suzuki and, although he might not be ready yet, I see Roy eventually playing that role.

Caufield - Suzuki - Roy
Slafkovsky - Dach - Monahan
RHP - Newhook - Anderson
Pearson - Dvorak - Gallagher
Evans, Armia

They'll definitely need to give an audition to Roy alongside Caufield and Suzuki, IMO.

Yup, people are quick to forget...

He wasn't always like this.

He literally became a man right before our eyes.

Will be amazing when Roy is ready for that top 9. It may not be this year.

One thing I like about Tanner Pearson keeping his seat warm, is Pearson will fetch a 2nd or a 1st at TDL if he's on pace for 20 goals. He's the type of player teams look for for a playoff run.

that line he was on last night was just a thing of beauty, I think they’ll get even better as well as they gain more chemistry together. I wish we had someone a little speedier to be with caufield and Suzuki then money hands but they seem fine short term right now I’d say we’re trending towards

Caufield- Suzuki- money hands
RHP-Dach-slaf
Andy-newhook-pearson

As the top three to start the season

My only issue with Dach as a Center is probably his faceoff %.
35% career average is... atrocious. I would perhaps mix him with another Center for faceoffs
You can't improve at faceoffs unless you get reps, most of it is learning other players technics and countering them. If you want Dach to improve, you want him to take more, not less.

And Dach isn't as awful at faceoff as you are trying to present. His career average is the result of his post-broken wrist season and his first one. He was improving in the other seasons and still is going by his 61% last game with 13 faceoffs (saying that the Sens team was shit at faceoffs).

Dach, Slaf, and Newhook................or Anderson.
Either way, those are good combinations....
