I don't see there being any way for TBL to acquire Dustin Brown without them sending Callahan the other way, which negates the deal...
I agree to an extent but here's what I posted in the Quick trade thread:
"Yeah, the spread between top and bottom is smaller than, say the spread between top and mid forwards. but when was the last real high-profile guy moved? I feel like at the deadline Quick could return some combo of high pick-decent prospect, low pick-real good/sure thing prospect, or like a 2nd-3rd-good prospect, dunno.
Looking back over some history,
Varlamov for a 1st and 2nd
Ryan Miller (and Steve Ott) went for Halak, Stewart, Carrier, 1st, 3rd
Luongo was traded for a bluechip goalie prospect, Matthias, and Anthony
Even lesser goalies like Victor Fasth got a 3rd and a 5th"
I think Quick compares pretty favorably to Ryan Miller or Luongo, and IIRC Halak and Stewart were more for replacements and cap reasons, so it was really more about Carrier the 1st and the 3rd. I don't think it would be out of line for Quick to pull a 1st and a really good prospect (a former 1st or 2nd round pick). From that thread in particular, 1st and Valimaki were "too much" to me 1st and Kylington is too small because that dude has fallen out of favor, but no one seemed to blink at 1st and Rasmus Andersson, so that might be the sweet spot for a general template. I'd love a third asset but that might be too much with Quick's age and injury risk.
I know. I'm talking about extended family and such. He's completely resettled in L.A.
Not sure why it negates the deal, Callahan only has one year after this one to go on it. It's a good deal for the Kings and if Callahan plays fairly well, it's another asset to flip at the 2019-20 trade deadline.I don't see there being any way for TBL to acquire Dustin Brown without them sending Callahan the other way, which negates the deal...

First ten games, I would give you that, last 10 games you're full of ****, and that could be just the piss and vinegar of the team losing, but every player out there is trying to do what the coaching staff is asking from them, in the limited time that they have out there, it's horse**** to say they aren't trying.
Now that's not to say that every night, every game, they are all giving 110% rah rah rah, thats not gonna happen, there will be off-nights, but I think the team has turned the corner at the very least on effort....it's too late for most of the them, but they have turned the corner.
The talent is there, it's the motivation, determination and heart that seems to be missing,
There are thousands of talented players that never made the NHL due to motivation, determination and heart.
Yet when I said that the lack of talent was the reason the Kings suck you said this...
So which is it, a couple of days ago you said they lacked heart and now you are saying they are working hard and trying.
I think you are arguing for the sake of arguing and literally contradicting yourself.
To all posters, whatever is wrong with this team, it's not what you think it is.
You will have to ask the ONE poster here who seems to know.so it's not because they suck?
Probably never going to happen.Recall Boko!

**** Vegas.
Pretty much. Shoulder to Clifford's jaw/chin. The NHL is lame when it comes to this stuff. That is complete horse****.
