I am finally feeling good about the lines for once this season.

You still have guys playing in spots they probably shouldn’t be, but the lines look like they have chemistry.

I really like Poitras and Frederic together. They seem to always play well together. Makes me want them to extend Frederic and then add a goal scorer to the line and let them stay together long term.

Sacco and coaches two things I like

Pastrnak plays basically entire PP but they have controlled his energy/skating on the shift so he’s not retrieving pucks but covers about 60 feet of ice all in offensive side

Zacha & Lindholm as a duo allow Poitras to come out with Geekie & Pastrnak immediately following the PK

Bruins win tonight, they’ve earned the right for Sweeney to go out and get a top 6 for a playoff run. Won’t be the same Rangers team they played last Saturday.
I wouldn't go that far. I think they have already earned the right to ride this roster to the end, if they stay in the race. Outside of a 10 or 11 game point streak, with mostly wins rather then loser points, I don't think we should buy.

So keep playing like they have the last 2 and let's see what happens.

This looks like a passive\aggressive post. They will win despite playing a team that will play a lot better at home while Boston has been borderline atrocious on the road?

Also what are you trading beside a #1 pick to grab a legit top 6F?

Earned the right to ride the roster to the end but not enough for any adds ?

Whats that tell your players? With a win tonight it shows me, they can get in, they’ll be playing a desperate Ranger team who needs a win more than the Bruins.

Either way I don’t think their a Cup team but I don’t think they’ll be an easy out either.

looking through Sweeney eyes here, I think he really wants to buy, and I think he’s looking at this game as a huge measuring stick. Bruins win, He’s buying imo.

who knows what other Gms like and their scouting staffs. They may really covet a Bruins prospect. That’s besides a Lysell and Merk. This years draft ie espicially weak by all reports McKenzie say it’s like 8 deep and and then there’s a drop off to around 22 and after that your 2nd round in a normal year would be 3rd rounders. Sweeney never been shy on dealing picks , so in this draft, no reason he won’t if he thinks the Bruins have a legit shot at the playoffs, he moves those picks and buys.

Last night’s game was entertaining, but let’s be honest with ourselves. Sweeney’s Bruins have gone on precisely one playoff run during his tenure. These guys might win a round, depending on opponent and if Swayman/Pastrnak play out of their minds. But no chance in hell this group is going on any kind of run.

I agree, but you’re just not going to throw in the towel on your team as a GM when you’re in a playoff battle and your team is beating clubs that are chasing you. What kind of message does that tell your players?

There are a point out of a spot with 27 games to go. As much as you and I as fans would like to see a retool already taking place , Sweeney going to try to get in if this team keeps winning and I think this game will go a long way in deciding which direction he chooses.

This game will tell me whether or not the Bruins are likely to make the playoffs, no excuses, they have to find a way to win this game. If they cannot significantly improve their road record they aren't making the playoffs, it's as simple as that.

The east is a dogfight I've never seen anything like this. They should expand more teams to get in.
As it is the top 50 % get in the playoffs, so you want to let teams that are in the bottom 50 % in the playoffs.

Before they buy or sell find out where they stand with their own FA. No more walking and not getting a return.

It's unlikely, but funnier things have happened in sports

..nobody thought the Bruins would make it to the SC Final in 2019

Patrice Bergeron Gets Real About Bruins' Brad Marchand's On-Ice Antics

Nobody knows Brad Marchand better than Boston Bruins legend Patrice Bergeron.

The duo wore the Spoked-B together for 14 seasons, from 2010-11, until Bergeron retired following the Bruins’ historic 2022-23 campaign.

Bergeron offered a unique take on the current Bruins captain when he joined former NHL player Nate Thompson and broadcaster Julie Stewart-Binks on their inaugural episode of the “The Energy Line with Nate and JSB” podcast on Tuesday.

“What would surprise a lot of people is he is a really good guy,” Bergeron said. “A lot of people have a lot of hatred towards him, but obviously, I understand that side when you look at him on the ice and the way he plays. He plays with his heart on his sleeve, and he wants to do whatever it takes to get the result.

“But if you take it back and really get to know him as a person, you see in the locker room, the leadership and the connections that he has with the guys. Also, the family man that he is, and the energy that he brings every day. He’s always lights up the mood. … He’s a special guy to be around. He’s a really good friend of mine. You would love to get to know him.”

As much admiration as Bergeron has for his former teammate, the six-time Selke winner admitted, there were times Marchand crossed the line with his antics on the ice.

“There’s more than one time that he took it too far,” Bergeron said. “He’d be the first guy to say that he took a few things too far. And he’s still learning. I think sometimes, it just gets the best of him, and he can’t really control himself. But, I think he’s done a lot of work on that.

“Obviously, there’s a few things that you get back to the locker room, you shake your head. ‘Buddy, like, what was that?’ … In the heat of the moment, that’s just who he is. And that’s the type of guy you want to go and battle with and go to war with. Let’s be honest, all the other teams want him on their team.”

Bergeron added Marchand is one of those players that if you’re a fan of an opposing team, you hate him, but if you’re a Bruins fan, you love him.

Sounds like oodles more hopium than pragmatism.

I don't see Boston making the PO watsoever. I look at Detroit playing with lots of confidence as their younger players like Seider, Raymond, Kasper and
Edvinsson and even Johannson begin to make significant impacts, along with vets like Talbot\Lyon, Larkin, DeBrincat and Kane giving them good goaltending and primary and depth scoring. This is a team worth making deadline deals for to upgrade their forward position and RD position. Wonder what Marchand would get back from Detroit, or even bigger Marchand\Carlo?
