Not sure why it negates the deal, Callahan only has one year after this one to go on it. It's a good deal for the Kings and if Callahan plays fairly well, it's another asset to flip at the 2019-20 trade deadline.
Kopitar Brown and Doughty are the ones that I keep hearing arent being traded.

Kopitar's contract is untradeable.

I can see why they want to keep Doughty, but will Doughty want to stay if they have two more seasons like this one, or in the black hole.

Brown staying is typical Robitaille BS. If there is any interest in Brown from a team on his list, he should be moved.

I'm not sure when the last time the Kings weren't either last or at least tied for last in points% this year, but currently they're only 30th. Thanks to a 3-15-3 record by the Hawks since Oct 27th. In the same amount of time, the Kings are 9-11. Twice the amount of points.

Martinez out??? Not on trip, Walker called up.

@reallisa
Alec Martinez and Kyle Clifford not on trip and will be out for the week
Walker coming up

Or being traded?

Pretty sure Martinez came back in the third period last game. I’m cool with the Walker call up, since he’s a puck mover, like AM. With the road trip featuring DET, BUF, CLB, PITT, I think Walker has a good opportunity to earn some minutes. Of course, La Due is there as well, but I’m not sure where he fits in terms of RHD /LHD.

The problem is if Forbort and Phaneuf soak up the minutes, so who knows what will happen.

The amount of injuries we've been having this year have been massive. Luckily they will keep us near dead last

When the fack is MacDermid gonna get one more shot? Sure, he had his flaws last year, but it was also his first season. I saw some good in there too...

anyone hear of when Kovalchuk could return?

I think they said 4-6 weeks, and that was late Nov, so I’m expecting mid to late Jan for him and Lewis and Campbell.

I’d rather see Brickley before MacDermid at this point of the campaign.

100% agree on MacDermid. Would rather see Walker, Brickley, Ladue and hell even Clague. You know what MacDermid is where as the others would potentially get alot more out of NHL experience than him. Maybe not LaDue.

For entertainment purposes, I would love to see MacDermid get some action. But as far as assessing talent, I would want Brickley and LaDue to get playing time even it means sitting Phaneuf or Forbort. I think its too early for Clague to get action. Maybe next year.

I can support this

I just want to point out that Kurtis MacDermid's 0.45 points/game is better than Kale Clague, and he leads the team in +/-. I get why Walker would be brought up, but let's not forget that MacDermid would bring more than just his size and fists.

I’m not convinced that play on a mediocre Reign team is any insight into prospects just out of junior or collegiate hockey. MacD is in his 4th AHL season, he’s a known commodity and I’d argue has limited upside at this point.

That being said, I’d take him over Phaneuf every game and Forbort probably half the time.
