Like with the team as a whole, don't go into any of these trade scenarios with expectations of some great return. Should Toffoli go, maybe getting rid of his $4.6m next year is part of the value, like Pearson.

I think TT is returning either a 1st and a good prospect or a 2nd and a REALLY good prospect. Not real sure what the Avs system looks like to be honest, I'd have to look more myself!

Personally if given the choice I'd rather go after Toffoli. Giving up a 1st + for a 33, soon to be 34 year old is concerning. Especially given how much are system is based on speed.

Also Timmins is a bit of a question mark right now. He's been out with a concussion since March or April and hasn't even started skating or working out yet.

I like TT but you are are overvaluing his return, he won't get a #1. From what TSN radio is saying, the Kings are making calls and Muzzin/AMart and TT are some of the players in the mix. I'm not sure what Blake is looking for, curious to see if he is retooling (hope not) or rebuilding.

If Paul Gaustad could fetch a 1st round pick, anything is possible.

Grabner got a prospect and a 2nd.

Hell even Dwight King got a 4th.

Young forwards seem to get the "still potential" premium bump. I don't think my ask is unreasonable at all particularly if more than one party is (and they should be) interested in Toffoli, and Tyler is better and more proven than all of those guys.

Gotcha. Definitely a hell no to Girard, maybe Jost if it was part of a larger trade. Don't really wanna give up on him so soon though.

Management would never do it however, they absolutely love the kid.

Tatar got that from a team with a bunch of cap space, had three 1st rounders the year before, the 2nd was in a future year, and the 3rd is in 2021. Hartman is a very cheap depth option, but it is weird they gave up a 1st, even a late one. Grabner and King were UFA's.

No two deals are exactly alike. Who knows what Toffoli would get, but conservative expectations are always better than more fanciful ones. Look at some reactions about Pearson. People had some outsized expectations on the return for a former 1st round pick that won a Cup. Other teams have their own interests.

I've been somewhat supportive of Blake up to this point. I've mostly liked what he's done (and more importantly what he HASN'T done).

But the Pearson trade is the first move he's made that I really dislike. If this was his only option for TP, he should have just done nothing.

All deadline (or near deadline) deals. Different dynamic at play in November. Teams are much less anxious to trade a 1st at this time of year that could turn into a lottery pick. If Toffoli is traded now it will be mostly roster player for roster player with a mid round pick or low end prospect to balance things out.

I would love to see it too. Kinda wish he would come back honestly. f*** Blake and Co. Lombardi is one of the best gms in the world long as he realizes he needs to adapt faster and get rid of people without being so loyal on the business side of things .

Too bad he didn’t realize a rebuild was necessary after 2016 and let his team play like shit and miss the playoffs again in 2017.
