Honestly as bad as it sounds I'd rather trade Kopitar over Brown. If you're going to trade a core piece and want max value its Kopitar or Carter.

I’ll hold judgement until the deadline. They are committed to Kopi and Doughty. It’s what it is. I thought this team would at least contend for a playoff spot. Maybe this start coupled with the last playoffs will change Luc’s and the actual GM Blake’s views.
What exactly do you think Blake and Luc’s views were when they took over?

I think people are getting crazy. If there's a NMC, NTC, or multiple seasons left on a contract(and especially every additional season beyond two), for each one of those you should decrease your hope or expectation that that guy will be traded. Throw in the age too. It's the same with when we say players suck. Why expect other GM's to take a sucky player? If we say don't give older players long contracts, why expect other GM's to take older players with long contracts?

Other teams aren't going to help the Kings out of this. Blake has zero leverage in any situation. When is the last time the Kings won a trade of any significance? Getting Gaborik in 2014? Maybe Lecavalier?

Talking about the Kings retaining for years on end with some of these guys. A quick look around the league, there might be around 10 guys that have something retained currently. Most aren't for multiple seasons though. If they are, most of them are less than $1m retained.

I get the desperation to get rid anyone on this team, because they're all highly paid and comfortable, and the edge is clearly gone, but I think people are expecting waaaaaay too much. Both in terms of quantity of players moved, and quality of return.

Trade Kopitar+Kempe+Pearson+Phaneuf for what you can get.

Get Richards out of retirement, Frolov from the Asia League, and sign Stoll and OD for 2 years at league mim.

Roll with:

Kovalchuk-Carter-Brown
Frolov-Richards-Toffoli
Iafallo-Stoll-Amadio
Clifford-Thompson-Lewis

Muzzin-Doughty
O'Donnell-Martinez
Forbort-Fantenberg

Needs some Penner in there

Isn’t Tim planning the parade for Seattle expansion team? He’s part owner of that expansion team, right?

Tim is the CEO of his own company that consults with other sports franchises/venues.
Oak View Group – We are here to be a positive disruption to business as usual in the sports and live entertainment industry.

His brother, Tod, is the President and CEO of the Seattle group leading the efforts to get a team there.

When Tim was the President and CEO of the Leafs, he boldly claimed he had parade plans routed out.

My biggest fear with Luc is that all the goaltending injuries this year will be used as an excuse for this to be a throw away year that really doesn't tell us about the roster. I think Blake sees exactly what is going on though and our weaknesses, it will be interesting to see what happens.

The veterans on the current roster have won 2 Cups. There is no shame in admitting that the window of competitiveness has closed for this group and that it is time for a change. You can't win in the new NHL without youth and speed, and we have the oldest, and among the slowest, rosters in the League. It is clearly time for a rebuild. Phil Anshutz was patient with DL as he executed his rebuild, I see no reason he won't be this time around as long as Blake stops denying the obvious and starts making moves accordingly.

The avg age of the Kings is 28.1.Its not the oldest in the league. Were at the bottom sure, but not the oldest team in the NHL.From all indications Blake and Luc arent rebuilding this team.

Out of curiosity, I was browsing Stubhub to see the availability of tickets for tomorrow's game against the Leafs. Tons of tickets available below $20.

Looks like there isn't much of a demand for a ****ty product.

I've sold 6 of 8 tickets for $13 before fees tonight. Still have a pair that I'll probably drop the price on as well. All 8 of us are skipping tonight.

Looking at the schedule, I'll probably skip the back-to-back over Thanksgiving weekend (Nice scheduling, BTW) and then Carolina as well.

The NHL is only fun to watch now if you are winning or drunk. Used to be fun to watch even when the Kings were bad. Now that they flat out suck, there is really no reason to go see them in person.

...but, but, what about the awesome ear splitting, mind numbing in-game entertainment experience?

I'm pretty sure alcohol sales increased during the time my friends and I were season ticket holders. That was the only way we could stomach watching a seasons worth of Jeremy Roenick, and Derek Armstrong as a top six center, although that wasn't his fault and the guy worked his ass off, unlike many other Kings at that time. At least for a brief period of time we got to enjoy Frolov-Conroy-Demitra.

My friend got that deal 8-9 years ago when season tickets were $11 a seat and he plays $14 a seat this season. Even he's losing money on tickets when he sells them.
