You guys remember watching the 2016 World Cup of Hockey and watching the Dean Lombardi assembled USA hockey team look like they didn't belong on the same ice as the opponents and struggled to do anything offensively? We've seen it play out with the Kings for years and it continues to this day.

And after 400 years of this kind of hockey under Murray and Sutter the team doesn't have any offensive creativity.
The reason for that is the team never had any. Where would it come from ?

the fact that rob never got any depth players on defense and offense and never got an insurance goalie for quick, it's pretty much the reason why the team is a mess, my team has the same issue accept elliot is keeping this team on life support, at some point elliot is going to be inconsistent, top line getting shut down and we are going to be bad as your team, believe me im expecting the worst because i know it's not going to last.

Good question, probably not due to what you have to pay him, I think Campbell's been fine. Look at what col had to give up a 2nd, and cap space in buying out orpik. Kings sent in a position to do that

Not enough. Although I have to say I am enjoying the games on a Sunday. Seeing Pete Carroll facepalm at the end of the Rams/Seahawks game was great, and seeing the Bruins beating on the Golden Showers and the Panthers game earlier makes me appreciate teams who can actually make plays with the puck and aren't glued to the boards for 60 minutes.

I think I watched 5 min of the game on Saturday. Sad thing is, I didn’t bother watching the rest on DVR. I went straight to box scores on NHL.com.

I haven’t been this apathetic about the Kings since pre Kopitar era.

As I mentioned before I try to let people work it out as most folks here are longtime posters who can beat the piss out of each other and hug it out after...seems like that's not the current climate. So I'll take a back seat to some of the discussions and just moderate so people don't think it's personal as they start getting rung up until we can all work it out. I'd also make liberal use of the 'block' feature if you know all you're every going to say to another poster is 'f*** you.' Attack the posts themselves, not the posters.

I'd also note since we're apparently re-entering the Kings' Dark Ages II that we are all fans of the same team and many have different visions; now that we've won the Cup twice, I think it's pretty clear that there's not ONE path or vision that's "right," so refrain from being combative just because someone sees that differently than you. We're going to see all sorts of visions from completely blow it up to no, we are contenders so make it clear that you disagree but support that opinion with evidence rather than personal shots.

The only thing interesting about them right now is Kovalchuk. He at least has a little jump, and does something with the puck. Only so many times you can watch Doughty slap the puck into shins. Or Toffoli slowly and meekly lose pucks. Or Kopitar be a $10m 3rd line C. Nothing worse in sports than an older team that's not competitive. It's the 19 year old in high school. It's the 45 year old dude in the club or whatever. If you're watching, it's a depressing waste of time. If they seem to be wondering why they're on the ice, you start wondering why you're watching.

Not much of anything has gone right for the Kings this season, as evidenced by John Stevens’ swift firing last week and subsequent replacement by Willie Desjardins. Los Angeles has looked slow and disjointed, Jonathan Quick has been fallen injured not once, but twice, and the offense has been toothless. Matter of fact, the attack has been so inept that it is scoring almost a quarter goal fewer per game than the next-worst offense in the NHL and the difference between the Kings and the league’s second-lowest scoring team overall is a full seven goals.
No player has been hit harder by the overall offensive ineffectiveness in Los Angeles harder than Pearson, though, who might count himself lucky if he ever scores again at this point. In 16 games, Pearson has mustered just a single assist and his struggles have landed him so deep in the doghouse that he’s got the fifth-lowest average ice time among regular Kings forwards.

This is a three-time 35-point forward we’re talking about, though, and one with consecutive 40-point campaigns as part of a Kings offense that was similarly low scoring. He has three 15-goal seasons and one 20-goal campaign under his belt, too. Pearson is also a career 11 percent shooter who hasn’t found twine yet despite 24 shots on goal — that’s ninth among all Kings — and that Pearson’s on-ice shooting percentage is a mere 1.28 gives more than enough reason to believe he’s due for some good luck any moment now.

I'm sorry some of us went too far RJ, which in turn takes away from your opportunity to relax and join in on the discussion. I have become quite heated and angered somewhat recently too, so I hope nobody thinks I'm being passive aggressive.

We should all do a better job of managing our frustrations, or at least discuss them with more civility. Because when we cross the line we are making it worse not just for the posters we are fighting with, but also volunteers like you who trust us enough to act like adults.

FYI. No matter what, by the end of Tuesday's game, the Kings will still be 31st in points%. So if anyone is on the fence between cheering for a win and hoping for the tank, for at least one game, get hype.
