Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I think we need a mid-level trade just to get the blood flowing in this team. Something like a trade for Nylander or someone of the like would be good for this team. Just to shake things up and get these guys moving a little.

I had the CBC feed as well and after the debacle, saw the Willie interview and was probably over 20 minutes and Funky already stated about what Willie said and the last part of the segment was talking the old days juniors, then some about Vancouver days and then Team Canada...he seems like a pretty solid guy but I do not think he's the future coach...hoping to see some changes in deals and a new system when Sturm comes in on Monday...
BUT - they had said Luc Robitaille would be joining them the next segment and I stayed up for it and was so ready for a few hard hitting questions....asked him about the fires...the shooting, what the team was doing and about losing an employee to the Vegas shooting and how they came up with ENOUGH....I was alomost hoping the guy would ask him "have you and Blake had ENOUGH with the play of the Kings?"....and the ENITRE TEN MINUTES - not ONE question about the Kings Team, players, their play, NOTHING!! Makes me think that Luc asked them to not talk about the Kings and just talk about what's going on with the fires and shooting. I have never seen anything like this in my life! A team Pres having an interview for 10 minutes and not a single hockey or kings related question! If that interviewer had free reign to ask questions, should be fired.

Not a surprise, Dubas has been scouting teams for 3 weeks now. they are eyeing (I think) a couple of d. Nylander will get a top d, which is why the Canes are the frontrunners, they have several candidates , and 4 Righties.
But it is a risk, because Nylander wants 8 x 8.5 and can sign where he wants. So overpaying for a rental, is a gamble.
I think when Matthews comes back, they'll look into moving Kadri, who is far too talented offensively (and a good 2 way center) to be buried on the 3rd line, not getting the minutes or skilled wingers he needs. He could net them a 2 pair type d.
But last year when the first inklings; came out about Nylander and his 'contract ' , the handwriting was on the wall. Marner and Matthews are gonna eat up 20 M, so Nylander was history.

Would Toffoli, LaDue, and a 2nd round pick get it done for Nylander? Or would the 2nd need to be a 1st? Maybe throw in Thompson as a cap dump as well.
No...Toffoli does nothing for Toronto....he's a luxury, La Due wouldn't dress for them.....

Come on man the play of the kings is important only to us and pales in comparison with real life, all these rich guys live in and around the area of the shooting and the fires , maybe just maybe in the real world it’s ok to talk about , but keep steady here lol

Toffoli/Muzzin is $8.6m on the cap next year. If the Leafs can't pay Nylander around that number, spreading it out over two garbage players isn't going to make it any better. It's going to be tough for the Kings to win any trades.

Wonder if Kings have interest in moving Kenpe at this point. If Toronto isn’t anxious to move on a Muzzin/Pearson combo for Nylander would a Kempe/Muzzin get it done?

I think one of the problems in being able to make a deal (besides making cap work for both teams) is when Blake is wanting to ask about any
player or asking if there is interest in Pearson or Muzzin, or whoever, the other GM is not that interested, or would only consider such
player, if the Kings also include JAD, Clague, the 2019 #1, Thomas, Kupari. Other GMs want something of value and they are unfortunately
not the Pearsons. If they would do a straight up Martinez for whatever, it is not something good enough or will help the Kings.
I would not trade the #1 (looking to be a top 5 pick almost for sure) Kupari, Jad, Thomas, Clague.
2 interesting pieces yet to play out:::::: VILARDI. Who may well play in Ontario a week soon and actually be playing on the Kings
in 3 weeks. Is he a saviour? Of course not. But if he can actually play and do reasonably well, that could force a move for someone else.
VOYNOV. Expect an answer soon from the NHL, I would think. If favorable, he could be dealt for some help or packaged
for a pretty good return.
Also, once Sturm and Oates are involved, likely starting tomorrow - assume the staff has discussions what / who / how
questions will be answered within a week - the course to take will unfold.

Not a chance. Toronto can easily get a better offer from another team that has a young defenseman to offer in trade.
We need to hope our usual guys start scoring... Carter, Toffoli, Pearson, Lewis, and trade each individually for assets and them look to move Muzzin and Martinez now that they’re playing better.
Obviously we need to accumulate picks but we also should target kids that may have low values or their teams might deem them expendable..I.e

Brett Pesce... would love this guy

These players are on teams that are young and some are contending, so they could move these guys for established, cup winning vets... I vote no on Nylander, too many assets and too much term
We need these young players and assets in order to rebuild our depth but also to maybe create an attractive package for a young stud that may become available...
