Rumor: KINGS 2018-19 Season - The Luc and Rob Show

I am always surprised with the stats you guys find , in the last 13 years we did ......... Who the hell tracks this **** lol , honestly just watch or go to the games , we sux right now and something needs to be done about , cap team, full or close to full building every night , and a couple of elite players signed for a boatload and long term , simple idea deliver or make changes , most long term fans are here for the duration and casual fan will be back with a better product on the ice so let's do SOMTHING or risk becoming the Angels

Well it is the internet. So many stats floating around out there a couple clicks away. That's just the nhl.com standings stuff. Don't even have to dig for that. When a team is playing as poorly as the Kings, you get curious. What was the worst record last year? Oh, ok. How about the last couple? Hmm. What about some more historical context? Oh, damn.

If you go back to 99-00, the Thrashers initial season, 570 teams have played. This Kings team has the 569th best points%, ahead of only the expansion Thrashers. It's only 12 games, but that's how bad 3-8-1 would be if it continued for the whole 82 games.

In other news Dwight King has 1 goal in 16 games this season.

So, better than Pearson.

I was speaking of the current leadership, Robitaille, Blake, and Stevens.

I know, but this bunch gave up on the previous regime too. The one they actually had success with.

I agree, this thing probably doesn't start to get turned around until Robitaille is fired. Luc seems to enjoy playing the clown and lovable loser around the NHL.

What basis do you have for that besides your dislike of the guy? Because that's a pretty idiotic statement to come out of the blue

I have met Luc Robitaille on several occasions. I sat next to him playing poker for a few hours and spoke with him. Luc is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I had a daughter who interned for the Kings when Luc was in charge of in-game entertainment. He called her on more than one occasion and could not remember the reason for the call. This was an experience had by several employees.

Tell me anyone here, what would lead you to think Luc Robitaille knows how to run an entire professional hockey organization?

I don’t blame Luc or Blake for holding on to Kopi/Doughty and building around them.

This is the year I need Blake to show me what kind of gm he will be.

They would not have signed Kovy if they didn’t have expectations this year.

The team is in a bad way. Worse than most on here predicted.

Blake’s got to earn his money now. I’d start with the coaching staff if I was him.

I am not a doctor. It could stem from a lack of education, or to a combination of many other things.

By then Williams was 33 years old, Stoll was 32, Regher was 34, Greene was 31, Mitchell was gone, and Richards was a shell of his former self. I would argue the mind was willing, but the flesh was weak.

Meantime in 2014-15 everyone was waiting for the 25-year old Drew Doughty, and 27-year old Anze Kopitar to pick up the leadership baton, yet there it sets still laying on the ground where the real leaders left it.

The LA Kings and Toronto Maple Leafs have seriously discussed, and continue to discuss, and trade that would send Slava Voynov (assuming he is indeed re-instated by the NHL) to the Maple Leafs in a deal that could see William Nylander heading to LA.

Both sources say this would NOT be a 1 for 1 trade and Nylander may or may not be in this deal...although his inclusion does appear likely...

To be fair John Hoven was being cryptic on a possible trade yesterday.Dennis Bernstein is backing the source to John Hovens rumor calling it a Reliable Source.Dennis Bernstein is also pushing the Nylander rumor.

Only logical person for #ForeverAKing would be Martinez.

I think #foreverAKing was some game he was playing for like 3 hours, whereas someone would tweet "Penner? " or whomever
and Hoven would weigh in #foreverADuck and play that silly game and he stopped, when he got notified of a possible imminent deal
and said game on hold, we are about to have #formerKing and then no deal has yet to go down...

I think the Leafs have to deal someone, as Matthews, Marner, Gardiner, Nylander all need to be signed and they won't be able to sign them
all, after the Taveres deal and (the year before) Marlaeu deal....some are wishing they never signed Marleau, otherwise they may be able
to sign all 4 and Nylander is odd man out. (I think this is all correct, re contract sich) So not sire they can take back a lot of salary - certainly less than the supposed 7 mil Nylander wants.

I was there those years...remember the Summer the place was packed for the scrimmage, in which Petr Kanko got plastered and got up and kept going?
I was behind the goal, upper level and standing next to Cammaleri...it was his first camp and no one recognized him...(not helping he was like 5'8" and many would not believe he was a King) I got to chat a little with him, but not wanting to bug him...he had a minor injury and could not play that day.
