Rumor: KINGS 2018-19 Season - The Luc and Rob Show

I am always surprised with the stats you guys find , in the last 13 years we did ......... Who the hell tracks this shit lol , honestly just watch or go to the games , we sux right now and something needs to be done about , cap team, full or close to full building every night , and a couple of elite players signed for a boatload and long term , simple idea deliver or make changes , most long term fans are here for the duration and casual fan will be back with a better product on the ice so let's do SOMTHING or risk becoming the Angels
 
I wonder if there’s a chance in hell we could pry away Nazem Kadri for Pearson and Martinez:sarcasm:
Would ease the possible loss of Jeff Carter or Tyler Toffoli or both

No way. Kadri is 28 and scored 32 goals last yr. Martinez is 31 and on decline. Pearson has 2 more years left at 3.8 mil. I think if they sent Pearson to
AHL, he would clear waivers right now. Seriously.
 
I wonder if Luc and Blake are avoiding media and making themselves inaccessible...would be awesome if a media credentialed person ran into either and
asked them point blank, "are you considering resigning?"....or something that hard hitting.

I have watched Kopi closely and on the PP he's had a few incredible opportunities from 15 feet or so,
with the puck and expecting him to shoot and he looks for a pass!!! I think instead of Stevens telling Pearson to shoot more (he can't, he rarely has the puck in a good scoring position)
be telling Kopi, "you're a premiere GOAL SCORER. You score goals. Be hungry for putting the puck in the net - go out and get 2 or 3 tonight". I think many players have the mentality
that goals will happen, when I get a good chance or rebound, but I am out there to work hard and contribute in all areas"...BS! The King players need killer instinct to put pucks in the net.
Same goes for their lack of overall intensity and physical play...don't just finish your checks - hammer someone with some real force. I read a few years ago that Mark Hardy was helping Nick Ebert
in the minors and while Ebert had some decent raw skills, Hardy told him "be fearless...Drew Doughty plays fearless. You need to play fearless" The mental part of the game is HUGE and I think
most of the King players right now have a PISS POOR MENTALITY when it comes to having a proper MINDSET and having confidence.

A more likely move would involve Toffoli & Martinez for Kadri & 2nd maybe even a 1st consider what their cap situation is and the guys they’re likely to lose in UFA...
Toffoli w/ TML is likely replacing those goals and Amart adds leadership and offense
Then you could probably flip Carter to Car for Faulk
Maybe even Muzzin + Pearson to the Avs for Jost +
Keep in mind the offensive system those teams play in and how each of said players would likely do in said systems

I think you have to send them Carter and Muzzin. Is Kadri what we are really looking for at 28 years of age?

A shooter's mentality has always been a problem with Kopitar. It's why Sutter would play him with King and Nolan from time to time. It forced him to be more assertive and shoot the damn puck. King and Nolan's job on that line was to get in on the forecheck and retrieve the puck for Kopitar.

Kopitar may be a coach's son, but he's the dumbest smart kid I know.

I do remember :) If I remember correctly it was around 2007 or so. I'm pretty sure it was before the Kings got Doughty. It was certainly nice to meet you back then and I'm sorry I didn't follow up more regularly to say hi!

Honestly, what we are looking for and what the FO are looking for are at opposite ends.
I would trade each guy I mentioned individually and accumulate as many assets as possible ala the Boston Celtics without taking back cash then truly go for guys like Panarin and better depth players to blend with what youth we have

I agree, this thing probably doesn't start to get turned around until Robitaille is fired. Luc seems to enjoy playing the clown and lovable loser around the NHL.
 
I heard Bernstein on XM this morning saying Blake put in an offer for Nylander. he thought it was around Pearson and Muzzin.

I honestly can't recall Bernstein ever breaking anything. Just more rumor mongering from a bitter shill.
 
Honestly Blake is in shit or get off the pot mode as far as I'm concerned.

His lip service about being a contender is one thing--if you TRULY believe that, you can't let Stevens sit here unabated while we head for NHL historic lows with this roster, and you also have to make some moves of some sort that aren't just paper transactions for cap.

Now if you DON'T truly believe that and it IS just public lip service about being a good team while actually plotting a retool/rebuild, by all means, hang onto Stevens--but do something to start further integrating the youth instead of stapling guys like Amadio et. al. to the bench.

Right now we are in no man's land and THAT is what's so frustrating.

Not at the morning skate - @jessimac17 is filling in today - but NHL's media site showing Amadio and Luff up, Walker and Wagner down. Believe a release should be coming out shortly.

Hope Amadio does not have a Elizabethan Collar around his neck from Stevens and actually gets 12 quality minutes on a line that is NOT LINE 4. Luff, go out there and take someone's job!!!

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Luc passes the blame to Rob and fires him.. especially considering Rob has been telling the truth about the club playing like poop and needing moves. But then Luc feels the need to pen a letter with contender expectations??? We both know who needs to go and ASAP !
