There is definitely a drop with the rest of the top ten, but I think that stems from the fact that Hughes and Kakko are legitimate elite talent. The rest of the top ten is still pretty stellar. That being said, I'll be pretty disappointed if the Kings don't get one of Hughes and Kakko.

Yeah, after this horrendous season, getting Hughes or Kakko would be quite the salve. Hughes is absolutely in the same tier as Eichel. Kakko is in Laine's tier.

Does anyone think Quick is traded before the deadline? I have a feeling they’re playing it safe with him not playing in the last game. I know he was sick though so it might have just been that?

I don't, mainly because the market is very limited and expands considerably in the off-season as many more teams think they can compete.

They're professional athletes not accountants. When they go to work, they exercise.

Sure, but Dustin Brown admitted he had to change his routine and re-invent himself, a big part was his workout regiment, diet etc.
His kids became older and more self reliant.

There is a big difference between going to practice and being a workout warrior. I can pretty much guarantee Carts does not have the time he once had to focus on long workouts
Not saying he is out of shape mind you.

Kids change things I don't care what you do for a living

I don’t know what is causing Carter’s decline but he looked pretty fit in his Teddy Talk segment.

Don't know, but the season is a grind....putting the gear on day after day after day, year after year after year is a grind.....they make it look easy, and they are paid VERY well to do that, and I don't know if I can legitimately question the effort/care factor that they have like others around here do, but this is probably Carter's worse stretch as a professional athlete, and you know that has to mess with his confidence level as well.

Agreed, crappy year for all involved. If he stays they need him to figure it out tho.

Nope. And when it comes time to trade 1 of the 3 goalies, that they'll have 3 goalies that have to pass through waivers will make any offer for one of them lower than it would normally be. Petersen being a RFA doesn't help either.

That's what I'm saying.

From reading Caps fans, it sounds like even Hagelin's remaining portion could be an issue or something.
1st round draft picks should be like airline miles. Your favorite team should be able to buy them whenever they are needed. Another team needs them? Sorry, that offer expired after the Kings last 1st round pick on Friday, June 21, 2019.

Hagelin at 50%+ retained for 2nd in 2020 is going to be my guess. Pay $ for a better draft pick.

That would actually be some shrewd asset management on Blake’s behalf, essentially flipping Pearson (who may be out of the league in a few years) for a 2nd.

Hagelin will be a great get for the Caps, great bottom six forward for a great team. The Pens gambling on Pearson is really going to end up hurting them if they see the Caps in the playoffs.
