I got a lot of grief for saying trade Tage to Nashville for Saros, Fabbro, Novak, and a 1st

Would have added to our D, given us our starting goalie, a good depth player, and a pick.

Nobody here is OK with making a legit hockey trade, instead only wants to trade spare parts like VO, etc.

The core is what needs to be shaken up. It's as rotten as the Royal Family
Because it’s a stupid idea and awful trade. Also doing a victory lap about your stupid idea after 2 games is even stupider than the original stupid idea.

Lol ... that's a f***ing great selling point.

That trade is awful and I'm not the biggest Tage fan.

Goalie is the most important piece. Saros is far better than anything we have. Would have had a net positive in our season point total

Pretty happy we have Greenway at a low cost compared to Meier.
Granato should pound the table more if it gets Adams to act but I also think Adams deserve som cred for staying away from some bidding wars.

While I do think we need to add a defenseman we might need to help the coaches in some way too if we struggle. A good coach should learn and adapt and sometimes bringing someone new in can help you develop. No leader has a complete skillset and I really want to give Granato the chance to develop his.

EJ has been very good so far, Clifton has been a bit up and down. Joker is....a little better than expected. Assuming power puts together a good consistent season, what's not to like? No team is going to be happy with all 6 of their D.

Adams banked everything on the group who all had career years not only repeating it…but taking another step. And being saved by a 21 year old goalie.

with all those assets and cap space…he didn‘t replace Quinn. He couldn’t get a goalie. He didn‘t address D in a meaningful way.

Ill use COULDN’T in exactly one of the three cases. But that’s being kind since he’s had YEARS to do it.

This was his plan for his fourth year as GM.

As it fails…that should matter.

You post the same thing nearly everyday, and your negative narrative ignores reality.

What Adams did was juggled future cap problems with getting his core signed long term while trying to ice a good team and not screw the future.

I know math is hard, but had Adams acquired and signed a Meier, Hellebuyck , or a Pesce (or made two of those moves, which would have made the vocal minority happy), The Sabres would have 7 guys making 60 million next season. As it is, this roster is already getting into the Maple Leafs territory of top heavy cap danger.

No "solution" player was signing a one year deal in Buffalo, no matter how many times you post it and pretend it could have been a thing. Those moves would guarantee Mittlestadt would be lost, and likely at least one of Quinn or Peterka the following year as cap casualties.

There would be zero cap to bring in depth and we'd be looking at half a roster of green ELCs or bargain bin scrap heap finds.

And for the record, goaltending is still not this team's issue, and Joker is not why they are 1-3.

Adams built another draft lottery team

If this team implodes like we did 3 years ago under Ralphus, blow it up and build correctly for once. Build an actual hockey team. Do not build a collection of talent. There is a major difference. Do not build a super soft group of forwards like Adams has done.

The late 90s Sabres, as devoid of talent that they were, were a team. The 2005-2007 Sabres were a team. This is a collection of talent

I need to get through October first before I really make judgements. Even that seems a bit haste unless they dig themselves into a hole they likely can't get out of. I said in the past goaltending could be Adams Achilles heel. Time will tell, but 4 games isn't enough time.

Also, I really like the EJ signing. Greenway has been an excellent addition as well. One major problem is the Cozens and Tage lines are struggling to get anything going. I thought both Tage and Cozens played better yesterday than past games, but they still have a ways to go. I won't even get into Tuch. That man has been one of our worst players on a team that has quite a few players playing bad.

That's why I'm not overly concerned. It's unlikely our top two scoring lines continue to be a blackhole. Once they get going, then the Ws will come more frequently.

Goaltending, as most of us knew, is the big question mark. Levi looked like a rookie last night. Give him a game off, then see if he settles in. If he struggles, there's no shame in sending him to Rochester for a shot at being the backbone of a contender.

I'm still peeved that Joki is Power's partner, though. That's a gripe I'm going to hold onto until they find Power a different partner.

The issue with this team is not a lack of grit, it is a lack of experience.

They are the youngest roster in the NHL and the 5th least experienced when you look at NHL games played.

The organization wants to slow cook the talent as opposed to trying to use the microwave (UFA and trading for vets).

The only ones getting slow cooked are the paying customers.

That's funny. He had a dominant offense with a suspect defense. He goes out and improves the defense. Doing so you'd hardly expect the offense to be MIA.

You could argue resigning Okposo, but Jost was a smart 13/14 fwd that can play multiple roles. I guess you could of moved Krebs for a grizzled veteran center that you overpaid for in UFA.

Then the blah blah blah goalie goalie goalie. However seeing the absolute shit show with Campbell, Kuemper signing big contracts and failing, I don't really blame him for staying away

Two pivotol offseasons in a row he just took a vacation and didn’t do shit.

This is year four. It’s his team now with no asterisks. His coaches, his goalies, his defense, his forwards.

Do you trust him to improve the roster in year 5?

Does he deserve the chance to after the last two?

When does the clock start ticking for you?

Kevyn is the reason Tage has 92 PDO, it's because he uhhhhhhhhhhh didn't sign Korpisalo yeah that's it
Yes. Tage’s production is the only thing going wrong. Good deflection.

Hey…how is that replacement for Quinn in the lineup he didn’t bother to get working out? Pretty good?

None of the complaints you had in the off-season are the reason the team is 2-4

the Quinn replacement got injured, oh and the other one got injured too and would you look at that the whipping boy Olofsson actually played pretty well these last 2 games

Zach Benson was NOT the Quinn replacement. Nobody even knew he'd make the NHL until 3-4 games into preseason. Get out of here with that.

The answer is they didn't replace him, they left it to default to Olofsson.
