Kevyn Adams GM thread

It's a good thing he works for an organization with no standards where you don't have to ever produce results, you just have to talk up the "bright future" years from now that somehow never comes.

Zach Benson was NOT the Quinn replacement. Nobody even knew he'd make the NHL until 3-4 games into preseason. Get out of here with that.

The answer is they didn't replace him, they left it to default to Olofsson.
The plan was always to replace him internally and Benson just happened to win the battle for the spot

None of the complaints you had in the off-season are the reason the team is 2-4

the Quinn replacement got injured, oh and the other one got injured too and would you look at that the whipping boy Olofsson actually played pretty well these last 2 games
Don't forget, the two terrible D additions have been absolutely fine so far.

But alas, we're here talking about Adams "hiding behind the failures of Botterill, Murray, and REGIER!" The team was closer to folding than making the playoffs when he took over during Covid. Get a grip.

Greenway has been awesome to start the season, EJ has brought everything he was brought in to do in spades and Clifton while incredibnly unlucky has also been a clear improvement to one of the primary pain points of last season. Hell our goaltending has been solid too. They fixed the PK and overall have improved defensively. We know they can score.

Actually, the attendance under his reign shows he's the one leading the team to "folding".

13k tonight.

Imagine that number without the Hab fans

I can not wait to see who the last man standing on the defend Adams doing nothing squad is.

I’m just thankful for Adams for not giving anyone false hope this season. No October runs to get us excited. Set the standard low at the outset.

Keep talking about the future and eventually the team will contend for a thousand years :propeller

As @Aladyyn correctly points out, they always intended to replace Quinn internally. The player referred to in the part you bolded was Savoie not Benson. Then they both got hurt.

I’m not fan of Olofsson but he is not why we are struggling right now. It’s a few of the top guys who aren’t getting it done.

Season ticket base. Until its back to pre-Covid levels this will be the likely attendance on a Monday night generally but especially during football season.

I don’t think your point about Habs fans matters much. There are always huge chunks of Hab fans whether we sell out or have 13k. They would be there either way.

I just meant it would be much worse without the Hab fans

Ahhh...nothing like an early season rough patch, caused mostly by puck luck, to really help me flesh out my ignore list.

Seriously, the Sabres have lost two games where they have outplayed their opponents, and won zero games where they were outplayed. That's nothing more than small sample size shit luck. By game 82 the puck luck will have (more or less) evened out and they'll be fine.

Unless Clifton keeps kicking the puck into the net, in which case...screw that guy.

There isn’t an Adams did nothing squad

Adams would have had to do nothing for that squad to exist

There’s just people like you inventing groups to argue against because reality is out of opposition low enough for you to match

And most of the people calling you out aren’t even defending Adams, just pointing out how far from reality you’ve descended

The "Defend Adams Doing Nothing Squad".

DADNS.... that is not very catchy.

Whomever it is, they can debate with the last man standing from the "Fire Adams History Revisionist Team"... We'll call that faction the FAHRTs

Can they score? Havn't seen any evidence of it this season

The problem with the team is they don’t have effective bottom 6 players on the team or in the system. Adams seems more than happy with Girgs and Okposo and Olofsson and Jost, who just aren’t good enough.

And there’s no one to call up because we don’t ever target those types of players at any level. It’s a problem that Adams created and isn’t even attempting to fix.

It’s particularly frustrating because it’s the least difficult part of the roster to fix.

Greenway +
EJ+
Clifton +ish adapting to different position and clear win over Bryson
Comrie-looking a bit more like we expected coming from WPG.

If only we had some young prospects on the up trend instead of old never have beens on the down trend. Our 4th line is such utter shit. They bring nothing.

Jost has been fine. Okposo is the anchor.

Fahrts? That's quite a journey.

German for the win!

It wasn't a good plan. I felt they were short a NHL forward all summer.
Tarasenko or Tatar are not the difference that makes this team a lot better to start this season.

Tage has 1 goal in 6 games. Tuch has 1 assist in 6 games.

Skinner-Thompson-Tuch combined for 118 goals last season (1.44 g/gp). They have 4 goals in 6 games so far this season (0.67 g/gp).

They have two goals from the D and they are from Samuelsson and EJ.

The team is shooting 6.8% to a league average of 10.0% after shooting 11.0% last season and 9.3% in 21-22.

They are off to a bad start not because of the lack of roster moves, especially up front. It's because guys that everyone expects to be really good are off to really bad starts to the season.

And they have not figured out what their issues are at home.

This team misses the playoffs this year and this guy needs to go.

Its the way of the business. Granato 20 games and gone if we are losing.
