If Keith Yandle played here for five years this could be considered a dick move but he didn’t. He was a hired gun who is friends with a few players on the team. Besides that? No one in the locker room should give a shit about him. He’s actively hurt their own career goals.

This organization got him into the record books. He and everyone bitching about the Flyers being classless should be thankful that they’re such a shitty franchise that they would allow this farce to go on for so long.

Wow the lack of hockey awareness by some people is astounding , He was a Veteran in the room to teach the next generation of young stars how to be a pro . He most likely retires at the end of the season with his 1000+ streak and next year Kessel will sign a league minimum deal somewhere and over take his record . Now however every player and up coming youngster will know the Flyers f***ed him for no reason , if they were in a battle for a playoff spot then yes thats one thing , then they should have cut his nuts 2 weeks ago when he could still finish ahead of Kessel and retire but they didn't . This is a classless move that everybody will remember for a very long time .

How about I throw this at you. They are breeding better competition because the up and coming player you mentioned will now understand that roster sports are not just handed to you.

spent a good bit of time today laughing at people who are calling the Flyers classless and a poverty organization because of this. it's funny cause they're not wrong, just not because of this.

also, Yandle should be grateful that he wasn't benched during that first losing streak that got AV fired. he literally only got the record because these neanderthals care more about being one big happy family than actually winning hockey games.

Poor guy.

They could have played with 7 defensemen...
Nothing like propping up a farce of a record even more.

Yeah, poor guy. The guy hasn’t played at even an ECHL level this year and yet the Flyers sat by and allowed him to set his joke of a record at the expense of the team but yeah, the Flyers are the bad guys in this situation. Give me a break.

It would only be classless move if they scratch him one game only to reinsert him into the lineup the next game.
Every team in the league would scratch him the way he's played this year.

I actually do think it's a weird move. They kept him on the ice despite his play this long. Healthy scratching him for meaningless games is funny. I guess they want to see other players, but who are we really fooling here?

The Flyers guaranteed him playing time on a team they expected to contend this year.

The organization is that insane. I remember when the signing happened, there were people saying Thompson and Yandle would be just depth signings, not likely to play.

The Flyers not only signed him to make the team, but they guaranteed they would help him coast his way to the iron man record. The organization disrespected the game more for letting him do it than scratching him now that it no longer matters.
