So the streak mattered more than icing the best roster possible while the games mattered, but now that they don't suddenly he can sit?

That makes no sense at all.
It makes sense when you view it as Fletcher and the Flyers promised to get Yandle “there.”

That agreement likely had a disclaimer of if we’re out of it we’re no longer held to continuing to play you. Chuck and Co. could never dream that they would be out of it with the great roster he built.

Just to be clear though. It’s not good management.

He's probably sick. I doubt they healthy scratched him. That would be a good decision and they are allergic to those.

Don’t bother arguing with people who don’t understand, just explain it to them. Let the Flyers bear the brunt of optics. Because if even one player they covet decides this is not worth wanting to play here because they benched Yandle, it will go much further than Nick Seeler getting an extended look or Attard getting to play.

I know, but they did get him there... and then kept playing him and giving him PP time too. If it was strictly because of that promise then why wasn't he getting the most minimal usage possible?

The whole situation is just so incredibly stupid. Why would you even make a dumbass promise like that? How could you be that desperate to sign such a shit player? It's not like he promised specific usage to some big name FA. Just mind-blowing incompetence, as usual.

Maybe 1,000 games was “there.” Who knows.

Because it’s not good management, duh.

The same usual folks will just disregard this as you whining about trivial things but it's the lack of a coherent process that's the issue.

Exactly.

It's the thought process that causes things like this that's the major problem. Yandle will be gone soon enough but the idiots making these mistakes will remain and continue to screw the team.

I wonder if some of those people actually ever had a real job. Poor management leads to a chaotic disorganized project at best. Good management knows when to step into a situation and when to step out.

Questionably bad decisions about minor issues just lead into questionably bad decisions about larger issues. If you're not looking to minimize negative impact/minimize positive impact in small ways you're likely not able to reason well enough for those larger impact ways.
