Look at this coward skate away from contact. He's not an iron man, he's a joke.

I know everybody hates Thompson because of his little twitter rant, but there's no reason to believe that Yandle is a bad person. He's just a player who shouldn't be playing anymore.

Valuing preservation of an empty and asterisked streak over actual quality of play and helping the team tells me he's pretty shitty and selfish and is eager to put himself over the team.

I think he's just a p***y. There are other players like him in the league who are afraid of contact. Difference is that he's 35 and cooked.

I have never seen anyone, including Yandle, dodge contact as flagrantly as he does. It's all to keep the streak alive, it's all he cares about and he doesn't care how it impacts the team. It's like when Bryzgalov ducked that puck, except it happens nightly.

Yandle might not be a shitty person but he's certainly a selfish one. That's why he dodges contact and bails out of plays so that he can stay in the lineup and keep his stupid f***ing streak going. That tells me the streak is more important to him than making plays and helping the team win games. So what i'm saying is that he's a shitty person.

Here's the reality: Yandle knows Yandle is not an NHL player, and Fletcher knows Yandle is not an NHL player. When it comes to someone like Nate Thompson, I can see them all inside their own asses enjoying the fumes, but Yandle is so obvious that everyone involved knows. He's arguably the worst defenseman in the league by every measure, and he doesn't even have the grit and defense bullshit to fall back on.

But Yandle has nothing to lose going for his Sunday strolls on the rink and adding to his record. Maybe he's a funny guy, but he's a selfish teammate. Meanwhile, Fletcher is so impotent he allows a $900k player (with a full NTC he gave......unprecedented stuff) to control his handling of the team. It steals usage and game money from younger, deserving players; it's a gigantic turn-off to fans. Yandle did not play 8 years here, where you feel indebted. He's a mercenary hire. Fletcher is content with being a doormat when it comes to personal relationships. They already got him his asterisk record, and that was their bargain, but there's no reason the conversation can't be had now.

The only way he comes out of the Flyers lineup this season is if he's moved to a contender for a 7th or Future Considerations. That I can see happening since they are too scared to bench him.

Yandle won't waive his NMC because he knows no other team out there has a more bottom GM willing to help protect his streak.

Their continued usage of him in high leverage situations indicates they may actually believe he's decent. They don't have to use him like that and they do.

They might be incomprehensibly incompetent

Yandle is -32 with 29 games left. Can he get to -42?

The last time there was an 82 game season, the worst plus minus in the league was -41. Guess who.

NHL Stats

Yandle is such a good teammate that he is working to ensure that Rasmus doesn't have to live with that indignity of having the worst +/- in the most recent full season.

That's f**kin' leadership boys. The sooner you learn to recognize that, the happier you'll be when they resign Yandle.

Yandle is a medical miracle. I've never known a horse to keep running after it was turned into glue.

Seriously, the fact that he didn't retire the night he broke the streak to take a coaching job with Eisbären Berlin or some crap is a joke.

'It's not for a couple of weeks, right?' Yandle may have decision at trade deadline
[Yandle] was asked Wednesday if he'd be open to waiving the clause to be traded to a team in the playoff race.

"To be honest ... it's not for a couple of weeks, right, the deadline?" Yandle said after practice. "It's not really something I've really focused on too much. I've told you guys before, I kind of take every day day by day. I honestly haven't really thought about it."

"We've done a good job of sticking together as a group," Yandle said. "If you're in our locker room, we have a really tight group. We enjoy being with each other, guys aren't cheating it during the game. I've been on some teams where guys are out there, it's selfish hockey, you're trying to play for yourself. I really feel that we're a group that is playing for the crest on the front of our jersey.

"He's a guy that brings a lot of joy to the rink, that's for sure," Flyers interim head coach Mike Yeo said Wednesday.

Maybe there's an NHL GM dumb enough to offer a 7th -- lord knows I don't want to see him anymore -- but this is a brutally fluffy fluff piece courtesy of fluff master, Jordan Hall. As if this guy deserves to move to a playoff team, or that he would be remotely playable. After being the worst defenseman in the league, holding weak-willed Fletcher over a barrel to get his record, it would be hilarious to see him do the hockey equivalent of f*** and running.
