To hell with Yardley and his streak. The reason his streak broke the record is because the flyers signed him. His play is a joke and if roebuck coliacovo and Weekes and any other clown doesn't like the flyers scratching him, they need to realize he would not have been in the league this year if it wasn't for the flyers. Yardley might be a nice guy but his game has been a joke for a long time. People shouldn't be blaming the flyers as far as Yandle goes. They should be thanking them.

Gotta say, read some really good perspectives that changed my mind on the Yandle benching.

Dumb ass Flutch created this mess by signing him. He shouldn't have been signed in the first place, but they did, played him and then made his streak a positive in a terrible season. At that point you're all in with this player so live w/ it
Benching him pissed alot of ppl off, including vets and alumni. It put them on another level of incompetence if that's even possible

Flutch truly did alot more damage here yet again. To keep playing him was a disgrace every time he touched the ice. Benching him w/ a dozen games to go is a disgrace also.

Honestly, the only positive to come from this is that hopefully this keeps getting more steam and this is the tipping point for Flutch Nutch to get fired

Fletcher is really good at creating lose-lose situations.

Cucky is doubling down on everything. When things are bad he finds a way to make it worse! You cant make this shit up! He is the worst GM of all times!

Why am I not surprised to read that Yandle lives with Hayes? Two 30 year old frat boys sticking together.

I bet their place has street signs inside, an "official rules for beer pong" poster, and a bunch of alcohol bottles on display

Yandle hitting 1k straight would have been disrespectful to Claude giroux and his 1k with the flyers. Girouxs level of play and the sacrifice he put in here doesn't belong in the same conversation as Keith f***ing yandle
Sadly, that is one angle none of the crybabies has latched onto. That the heart and soul of the team, who has been here for 10+ seasons, regretfully waived his own NMC so he could be traded away from a team he never wanted to leave. Because the the team was so bad, collectively, that the management couldn't in good conscience not try to collect some trade deadline assets for him.

Now that is a sad story. But allowing Yandle to actually break a record...the record mind you, not some arbitrary number the crybabies want...that is a great story, not a sad one, and people should thank the Flyers for allowing to to happen. I didn't see any other teams ponying up for that privilege, like his original team, Arizona, who certainly could have afforded it AND turned it into an awesome homecoming story? Or his hometown team Bruins, who could also have spun a nice yarn?

You do know that Hayes' brother died last summer. That Yandle is his closest friend and has helped him through what would be a terrible period for anyone, compounded by an injury that might have been career threatening.

Of course Hayes is going to feel bad for a close friend, who has stood by him during a difficult period of his life. It's not like he made a big deal of it.

There are things to knock players/management over, but sometimes people just have to stop with the knee jerk comments and think for a second - maybe I'm just being a tasteless jerk?
