I still don't understand why he gets a pass from so many here being as horrendous defensively as he is. He's a turnover machine and is often out of position. His 'great plays' are almost always making up for his own mistakes. I don't care how big, strong and talented he is. He's either stupid, lazy or both. I don't want him on my team.

Wonder what it would cost to get Guhle and Dach from Montreal. Miller, Othmann and at least one rust rounder is my guess. Doubt they want Kakko, but there more than welcome to have him.

Not that Montreal would sell those players. They’re likely untouchables, along with Juraj.

A bona fide top-two with a cap friendly contract in his mid 20s. They grow on trees, I hear. Maybe Dallas will take Kakko for 50% retention on Heiskanen.

Gudas is a dawg and certainly could help any team, that wants to win a Cup.

iirc he's a RHD though, we'd have way too many of those with him.

He's also good for dumb ass penalties. Which I'm not sure if that matters really, our defense took bunch of dumb penalties.

I agree we only extend if we could do so at low cost. But I do like how Fox looks with him at times.

He's still young and dmen typically reach their peak after 25. Have patience and stick with him. Too many on here always want to give up on him.

He's back off of the trading block, really liked what I saw these past games. He's still finding his game and there is upside.

Separating Lindgren and Trouba from the best two D-men on the team has done wonders for the latter - Miller and Fox have been phenomenal analytically, and their play-styles complement each other beautifully. Miller can carry the puck through the neutral zone very well, and his skating ability allows Fox to cheat toward the slot offensively.

Miller has had some visible gaffes this season, but that is to be expected from a puck-carrying skater logging 1D minutes. The many good plays he makes on a game-by-game basis have so far outweighed his mistakes handsomely, and his ability to carry the puck deep has been instrumental in developing the PP2 into more than a novelty unit.

Hopefully Miller can continue to build on this early success - he’s been one of the more underrated players on the roster this season.

I'm a simple man. As long as Miller stays on the + side of +/- and can help generate offense then I'm good with him. He's still a young D that's on the offensive side of the puck, and his stats with Fox shows this. I think team defense as a whole always needs work, but Miller gets singled out more for some reason like he should be starting in the AHL. Ah well. It is what it is.

That being said, I don't think that requires K'Andre Miller specifically. It just requires a good NHL player.

Since paired with Fox he’s looked fantastic.
Those mistakes are there, but they are 1-2 times a game. And then there’s the 7-8 great plays, and the rest of his shifts are quiet.


So his analytics look fantastic. Exactly what the eye test says.

That being said, I don't think that requires K'Andre Miller specifically. It just requires a good NHL player.

I mean, he's a 24 year old, great skating d-man who, after this year assuming things stay the same, would have proven chemistry and results with the teams best player (that's Fox). I'd give him a long term deal in the $6-6.5m range and not think twice. Like 8 years x $6m. That's barely top-pairing money and he's easily a top-4 d-man who is still growing.

I think he could be an offensive guy....but he lacks confidence in himself and instead of skating it up ice he panics along the boards and make a blind pass right into the hands of the opposition.....much like Kreider does when he feels /hears blades coming near him....he throws it in the corner rather than working the puck along the boards like hard working forwards do and battle ! Kreider as a rule wants NONE of that .
