Hes our best offensive D and hes one of the best offensive D in the league.

Caveat. Martin Saint Louis is soft as f*** and will not displace Matheson from the first PP because he is a vet and he doesnt want to lose his room.

The Habs are a bad team and its unlikely he produces more than 40 points. He gets a lot of time as a defensive D because Matheson isnt good enough to play there.

Look for a matheson injury and if it happens pick him up.

I don't know what Msl is doing. Both Barron and Guhle should get regular pp time over Gallagher/Anderson/Xhekaj. The fact that he was surprised about what Guhle can do with the puck speak volume about him.

The potential of Kaiden Guhle? I see a hybrid of Jaccob Slavin and Drew Doughty. Doughty was been my favorite D in last few years. Guhle have show great two-way, poise and offensive like Doughty to me. I see Slavin in all aspect of defensive side.

Guhle have a franchise D potential to me, for sure. He is that good!

This defensive corps has to become an attractor for talented forwards. I would think that the prospect of playing with d-men who can move the puck, along with being coached by MSL, has to be a motivator for someone like Monahan. Or any other promising but currently underperforming forward that HuGo manage to pry away from unsuspecting GMs next June.

I don’t know. Kid can pass. Underrated shot. Boss tier cajones. Depends how he’s utilized but I wouldn’t put a cap on his production at this point.

His one constant as head of amateur scouting was finding top-4 Dman which he did quite well. McDonagh, Sergachev, Subban, Emelin (before knee injury), now Guhle

The OT 2-on-1 followed by the backcheck was a thing of beauty. Some might be thinking Monty bailed him out with the phenomenal save on Pietrangelo, but you see it’s the time and space bent by Guhle’s skating that allowed Monty to make that save with relative ease.

You are damn right. What pisses me off is that teams like Anaheim, Devils, Buffalo, etc etc have placed their future 1 D man on the first f***ing PP and made the vet sit. Anaheim could still have fowler as their QB, but they use Drysdale or Mintyukov instead. Devils have hamilton but decided to use Hughes because hes the future. Buffalo used Dahlin soon in his career. Nobody cares about Matheson, he does so many mistakes and should be traded while his value is high.
