Staying healthy is obviously the main thing. He has to prove he can be a full time player.

When he does play, he’s fantastic. He can be insanely good out there. Top pairing material, without question. Has the potential to be a top 15-20 D in all of hockey. He’s just so good in all facets of the game.

He will get stronger with maturity but U don’t think it’s a good idea that he adds to much pounds since he could loose some mobility
Just a few pounds.........we definitely do not ant him to lose his tremendous mobility......he is fun to watch.........

Only if it is just a few pounds. We don't want him to 'Subbanize' himself and go from having dynamic skating to being a slug.
Absolutely...............do you think he could be an EK light, type of Dman......( Karlsson ) Light being the key word.

Injuries are the only thing keeping him away from becoming an elite Dman IMO. He has everything you could want. If he can stay healthy he's a top minute player for years.

I see the Pietrangelo comparison. I hope he gets there

I think peiterangelo's game is more efficient and controlled.

Guhle is fun to watch, but to be a minute munching dman who plays against the league's best, and be durable in that role for a long time , I think he has to find some efficiencies, which hopefully comes with experience.

McDonagh had one year where he was insanely good, 2016. I do think Guhle has more than McDonagh in him. He faster, bigger, stronger, has a better shot and hes just a more poised player.

He also really, but really should've won the Norris in 2021.

I think we need a dose of reality here. I've liked Guhle ever since I watched him at the U18s, but to compare him to Karlsson, light or otherwise, is, I would respectfully submit, being more than a bit fanciful. Guhle, in his short career in the NHL, has scored 4 goals as opposed to Karlsson who has now scored 179 goals and 765 points. Guhle has never displayed anything close to Karlsson's offensive skill, at any level of hockey. Guhle is an excellent prospect who will be a leader on this team for the next decade. But to try to compare him, in anyway, to a potential future Hall of Famer, is setting yourself up for disappointment.

Agree.

He will need to show that he can finish the season healthy and maintain his level of play.

It might just be a matter of time tho.
It will definitely be a matter of time before he can show that he can finish the season healthy?

Again, we are trying to compare this very young player to a Hall of Fame defenceman. Very ambitious indeed. At full flight, Guhle reminds me of Bret Hedican. They are both the same size, are not overly gifted offensively and are/were able to play big minutes for their team. If Guhle could match Hedican's career totals: 1039 games played, 55 goals and 294 points, most of us wouldn't be too disappointed. While I doubt Guhle will ever be able to match Hedican's level of skating ( they are close though) Guhle should be more productive offensively and play a more overall physical game. It's always hard to try to match one player's style with another. But I think we can all agree that Guhle will be a major part of this team's future and together with our other great defensive prospects who are on the cusp of reaching the NHL, our future for the first time in a generation is promising. I just hope I live long enough to see our team re-emerge from the wilderness of irrelevancy. It's been a long and frustrating journey.

I'm just messing around. Brett hedican is an interesting one though.

Being serious now I personally see a little bit of McDavid in him. Just with how he looks sometimes lol. Guhle thinks fast, has fast reaction, and very decisive. Very jittery too

Guhle was amazing Saturday night.

Kid’s progression curve is just so impressive. I’ve watched him since his selection and he always seems to find new elements to his game at a high level.

I agree with @Mrb1p Guhle has more elements in his game than Sanderson and I do believe he will be better if he can stay healthy.

Hopefully St-Louis can discover a new concept called give Guhle a chance on the powerplay and put him on the ice when you need a goal.

It’s ridiculous to be surprised by his offensive ability when he’s shown multiple times glimpse of what he could do.
