Kadri

Kadri had been dog**** this season but his play was starting to come around the last few games of the regular season, though he still had a poor game 1 vs St. Louis.

But we're all fooling ourselves if we don't think Kadri would have helped. He'd allow Compher to go back to the 4th line and play on the wing with O'Connor, letting him do what he does best. He'd also make room for Burakovsky out there. Let's face it, Burakovsky is struggling in a major way right now in large part because he's the only sniper on the team aside from MacK/Rantanen who play together right now in the lineup.

Kadri takes 1,000 years to shoot a puck but he still shoots it hard and can pick his corners when he's on, he can also straight up shoot it through goalies as we've seen. Any time Burakovsky is on the ice, teams know he wants to shoot and the other guys are not threatening. Kadri is threatening with his shot.

Again, all I'm trying to say is that Kadri's loss was easily replaceable. The depth it took to do so wasn't. That tells me Kadri really isn't worth more to this team than Jost is. So if there is a market for Kadri, Joe should look at getting a decent return if he can and go with Jost/Newhook on the 2nd/3rd lines next year...hell even give Bowers a f***ing look for a change. But we all know the plan was and is for Newhook to be in that role by 22-23. Let's start easing him into it next season. It will be harder to do so if Kadri is still here, especially given Bednar's seemingly reluctance to play rookies until he's absolutely forced to.

I think Kadri could have made a difference in limiting the chances for Karlsson and Marchessault.

They've been killing the Avs and that's probably the line he'd be playing against. The top line has been matched up against the Stone-Patches line all series.

If Kadri could have shut down that Karlsson line or at least prevented a goal or two, it might have made the difference in the series. Not that it's over yet but you know what I'm saying.

Knowing Kadri, he’d be suspended again for an unnecessary and uncalled fir hit on them.

There's a certain poetic irony that Kadri's last suspended game could very well be the game the Avs are eliminated in.

Tip of the cap to Leafs fans, they were completely right in what we were getting in Kadri. Decent player, will cost in you in postseason.
As a Leafs fan who loved Kadri, he soured on me quickly. Completely took away our advantage in the 2nd Boston series, and then cost you guys game 7 with 2 silly mistakes and then the suspension this playoffs. Good player when on, but useless and unreliable.
The excuse our Leafs fans gave for the Boston play in the 2nd series was he is sticking up for the team, and somehow it's Dubas's fault for a soft team which is why he made the hit. It was a silly excuse then and it's even more now.
It was a selfish play because he can't control himself and same thing this playoffs.

Also make no mistake about it. Kadri was traded because of his suspensions. Leafs beat reports said it. If Kadri was reliable, Dubas would have found a way to keep him. Think about this, Kerfoot played better for us in the playoffs.

Avs fans, time to step in to the shoes of GM Joe.

What would it take to get him back in Blue & White?

Its Joe Sakic, buy low sell high. Kadri will be back on the 2nd line, feel really guilty and work 110% and play amazing the first half of the season... Then Sakic will trade him.

I honestly thought after being suspended two times in a row in Toronto that would be rock bottom for Kadri, crazy he did it a 3rd time and dipped even more

I'm not actively looking to trade Kadri, but I don't think Toronto has the type of players the Avs need. Muzzin is the only piece that makes sense to me, but I don't see the Leafs parting with him.

The only other option is for you guys to maybe bring in a late 1st and then trade it to the Avs. Then they could either use those two 1sts to move up in the draft, or use one or both of them in a package deal for another 2C. Not sure your 2nd and a prospect/player would be enough incentive, even if the value was fair.

I've come to terms with keeping Kadri another year. His contract is still really good. The trick would be to acquire another center to have a deep, deep team.

Yeah you have to bump him 3C. No chance you can go into next years playoffs with a guaranteed 10 games suspension as your 2C.

If we can get a team to give us even decent value for Kadri, I think you have to trade him.

I don't hate Kadri or anything, but I'm worried about taking him into the postseason. If he does something that is worthy of a fine he's going to get 5 games or more for history. Anything worth a game or more will see him out for the series. I just think it's time to move on.
