Keegan Kolesar leaves both feet to hit Byram in the head and ends his regular season = 0 regular season games $0 fine

Tom Wilson who's been suspended 5 times and fined 2 time slams Panarin to the ice and ends his season = 0 regular season games $5k fine

Nazem Kadri picks the head on a bad hit = 8 playoff games?

Such ridiculous inconsistency.
I mean he's the most suspended player in the league currently. It was always going to be a big suspension, even if 8 is a bit harsh.

Yeah, this is bullshit. Always seems the Avs get f***ed by the DoPS. It goes back years. Makes you wonder if it’s the market they play in or something.

The first two need to be like the third.

Prior to this both Kadri and Wilson had been suspended 5 times.

Wilson however just got a $5k fine during the regular season for slamming the smaller helmetless Panarin to the ice and ending his season, while Kadri got 8 playoff games for his hit to the head.

Wilson's last suspension was 7 games just a few months ago in March of 2021. Which apparently didn't have any influence on their decision for the Panarin play.

Kadri's last suspension was in 2019 for the rest of the playoff series, which ended up being 5 games. Before that, 4 games was his longest suspension. But they called him a repeat offender, even though by definition a repeat offender has to have been suspended less than 18 months ago.

Him no longer being a repeat offender doesn't affect the length of suspension at all. They were wrong on the Wilson one 100%, but they're way closer to being right on Naz unfortunately.

This is Kadri's 6th suspension? Maybe Kadri should keep a leash on himself.

Not disputing that and soon I’m sure he’ll be another team’s problem. But he’s suffering for the sins of others a bit here as well.

This was a violent hit but far less egregious than a ton that have resulted in next to nothing this year alone.

The severity of the hit isn't what got Kadri an 8 game suspension though.

Getting the Wilson play wrong and being close but excessive with Kadri just means they screwed up twice.

And it also makes it obvious they punished Kadri more just to make up for the bad PR by giving Wilson nothing. Making it even worse.

Kadri's last suspension was 3-5 games, which was the remainder of the series. There was no way they were going to give Kadri less considering his history.

For some reason this dude never gets a break,

It's 8 games because Kadri fails to learn his lesson. The league is going to Torres him from now on. It's also because Faulk got injured on the play.

I think it's a few too many games, since each playoff game should be worth two regular season games but this is a bed Kadri made for himself.

Him being fined a handful times for diving probably doesn't help with his overall image over at league HQ.

His last suspension was 4 or 5 games, I can't remember. But when you repeatedly put people in danger this is what happens.
