Where would you prefer Slaf spend his 23-24 season?

‘’Why does Slaf never shoots! It’s so bad! Why isn’t he placing himself to win board battles!!! So badddd’’

‘’Not impressed by the 7 shots! They were not pretty enough and didn’t score! Plus why does he gets hit like any other player going near the boards while battling for the puck?!?’’
To be fair he hasn’t shot enough this year. Tonight was a very positive development. If he starts upping his shot numbers, pucks will start going in.

They misused him last year and most of this year. Now he’s got the fans on him for lack of production. Since moving him up though he’s been better. We are seeing progress in his development which I don’t think was the case before. I hope they give him another ten games up. He’s been a bit snakebit in terms of points and I’ve got to think they’ll start coming soon.

In regards to points he should have 7/8 points by now had his teammates buried some chances.

Haha, imagine that, Slaf having a multipoint game.
Some of the people in this thread have set the bar so low that I constantly have to look down so I don’t stub my toe on it. That said, I think last night was probably his best game since being here. It was really nice actually being able to see some flashes of a player you’d expect to go top 5 in a draft.

Some people in this thread have set the bar so high that anything short of a goal every night and it's “he needs to go to the AHL”.

Asking for more then two points In 30 games isn’t asking a lot. We have people saying Slafkovsky could score 2 goals and an assist and people who want him to go to the AHL would be asking for a hat trick. Reality is he doesn’t even have a hat trick with of points in 15 games all season so far. It reminds me of the movie Billy Madison when they start throwing Billy a party everytime he passes a grade. I got that kind of energy after the first game of the season and I’m getting again after last night.

I really don't get what you're trying to do here. He had a good yesterday, and had a lot of chances. Aside from the botched 2-on-1, he played well. There's no need for this type of shit, it's just petty.

Agree 100%. Another HfHabs scout who’s petty they didn’t pick their precious little guy that they watched so preciously on the internet.

I mean we are Habs fans, I don’t see what's so wrong with pointing out that he had a very good game last night. I don’t get the Billy Madison reference, its just more proof that its more about being right than actually evaluating his play on the ice.

If he would have had a shitty game it would be fair to point that out too.

But a good game is just a good game, just saying so doesn't mean anything more than that.

Asking for clips is petty? K. I searched on twitter, and there were none. There's one of Slafkovsky's shots in the extended game highlights, but otherwise he didn't make the cut. It's weird, isn't it?

Oh yeah, for sure bud. I set the bar at 40 points to buy a Slafkovsky jersey. The bar is beyond high, it's in low earth orbit.
Funny you would feel like I was talking about you when I didn't speak your name.

You felt triggered? That's on you.

I'm here for the laughs, but what crow may I ask? Depends on what you think I think.

Here's a rundown of what I think

1- he wasn't the best pick
2- he should get a stint in the A, no matter if it's only 15-20 games
3- i think he'll reach at least 50-60 points per season, in the nhl, at some point
4- it's gonna take more time to reach that level playing only in the big league
5- he's been paired with one of the league's best shooters, so no matter how many 'good' plays he makes, I won't be reassured until that line starts producing and Slaf gets at least a few assists every now and then

And I don't eat crow. Corvids are beautiful and extremely intelligent creatures, and I am appalled you would suggest such a thing. Shame on you.

Im here for the laughs and the debate too.

1. Debatable and it remains to be seen. I am not sure if he ends up his career with more points than Cooley. I think a two way powerforward like him is a very rare assets. I think he has a two way impact that Wright and Cooley won't have.

2. Disagree. I would agree if we had MT/MB but clearly he is being well coached and accompanied by the current staff. I give them the benefit of the doubt. He seems to be trending well right now.

3. I think he will reach it. I think he has the potential for more. I would be disappointed if 50-60 points is his prime.

4. Of course. But he should experiment massive, parabolic, exponential growth. It may come faster than we think too.

5. Agree. Points will have to come.

I will serve you a nice game and may we enjoy Slaf breaking out instead.

“This might just be a question of semantics, but it also provides a window into how St. Louis is handling Slafkovský as he navigates a start to his sophomore season where he has two points in 15 games after going his final 15 games of last season without a point. St. Louis is not focused on points with Slafkovský; he wasn’t last season, and he isn’t this season. But he is also dealing with a player to whom points define how he is playing, and for his message to go through — that the points will come if Slafkovský sticks with what he is being taught — then using the word “struggling” will naturally elicit a reaction.”
MSL said after the game that Slaf now has to learn to be more efficient with his puck touches now.

They really are just following a step by step process with him and now that he's able to get a lot more puck touches (thanks to improving his off the puck readings/positioning), they are going to work with him to improve his efficiency with the puck.

You weren't talking about anybody because you don't have the chutzpah.
It's a message board man…you don’t need chutzpah to write anything here. Lord lol. And for the record I have never, ever, ducked anyone on here, certainly not you lol.

Anyways, this ain’t about me, it's about Slafkovsky.

I’ve literally pointed out twice in the last 2 pages of this thread he had a good game. What the **** are you talk about “making it about being right?” That’s what other people are doing around here. The Billy Madison is in reference to throwing a party whenever he does anything. Billy Madison was a grown man throwing a parties when he passed elementary school grades.

Then who were you talking about? @ them.

Clips are useless if you take the time to actually watch the games instead of basing your evaluation on twitter clips lol

I watched the game against Boston, which people are calling excellent. It was replacement level if I'm being generous. Now people are calling this one excellent, and I'm calling bullshit. Prove me wrong or don't IDC.

Actually, he should be ppg right now because his linemates also should have set him up for 7 or 8 chances that he definitely would have buried. So actually, he's outscoring Cooley when you really think about it.
I imagine every player in the nhl would have close to a point per game and McDavid 5 ppg. Goalies exist and they stop that from happening. Newhook should have like 10 goals with all of the posts he’s hit but he doesn’t. It’s not an excuse it’s just hockey

Well i guess we are all stupid and you’re the best ever. Have to wonder why you still « clip scout » prospect in your basement and no team hired you if you’re so better than anyone else.

Damn, we got a lot of sensitive folks this morning.

No one threw a party for anything, he was arguably our best player last night, it would be noteworthy for anyone who did the same.

Just cause that bothers you, for some reason, doesn't mean we're annointing him the one.

Billy Madison lol never liked Adam Sandler anyway
