We're talking about Slaf. Not about Bedard or Fantilli or Cooley or Carlsson.
We are still evaluating if Slaf can pass the puck properly or if he can shoot.
He did pass the puck many times and had 6 shots on goal. This was a monster game.

He was shooting once per game. Then he shot twice. And last night, he shot 7 times.

Undeniable, exponential, parabolic growth.

Pretty soon he be scoring 7 goals per game.

When people say "parabolic/exponential growth", what they probably actually mean is "logistic growth".

Man people here are crazy :

Slaf played a monster game ; Slaf was f good tonight ; his best game ever

No he wasnt.

A monster game is scoring 2 goals, 1 assist, 5 hits. What we saw is what should be an average game. He SHOULD always play like against the Canucks. But without falling every 10’mins and while putting up points.

Its like the bar is set so low, then when he connects a pass, make a shot or is witnessable on the ice. People are sooo happy.

can we please stop hyping him up when he just played an ok game?
I suspect whatever this 19 year old does it will never be enough for some. “ 2 goals and 1 assist?” A real 1OA would have scored 3 goals.

After barely 50 games for our long term project, you're all whining because he doesnt show enough skills, productions, etc
No. A lot of fans aren’t happy that he isn’t treated like a long term project. He should have spent time in the AHL, WJC, etc. Instead of being rushed the NHL.

Pointing out that he doesn’t have “enough skill”, doesn’t contribute, etc. Is only to underline that he would have learned things at lower speed and In lesser league.

Management is putting extra pressure on him by keeping him with the big club.

All this is contrary to what a long term project should be treated like.

He might still make it though, but it’s not the safest path.

“Slaf had a bad game, he sucks”

“Slaf had a great game, he sucks”

These people don’t care about anything but points. 54th NHL game, 54th game in a new league which is the best league in the world. The strides he’s made in that time, doesn’t matter. Golden chances but his linemates can’t finish? His fault. Scoring chances but the shot misses? His fault. Faster, stronger, more aware, who cares, he didn’t get a secondary assist on an empty net goal.

And don’t forget, Caufield’s third offside that prevent a goal, slaf’s fault.

I will happily serve you the crow in due time, but fun post.

I'm here for the laughs, but what crow may I ask? Depends on what you think I think.

Here's a rundown of what I think

1- he wasn't the best pick
2- he should get a stint in the A, no matter if it's only 15-20 games
3- i think he'll reach at least 50-60 points per season, in the nhl, at some point
4- it's gonna take more time to reach that level playing only in the big league
5- he's been paired with one of the league's best shooters, so no matter how many 'good' plays he makes, I won't be reassured until that line starts producing and Slaf gets at least a few assists every now and then

And I don't eat crow. Corvids are beautiful and extremely intelligent creatures, and I am appalled you would suggest such a thing. Shame on you.

Yes, he’s a veritable superstar. I’m surprised Roy isn’t already in the NHL dominating the play with his lightning fast mind.
Maybe Roy is so fast he’s already played through the 2024-25 season and won the scoring championship, and we’re catching up because us slow folk only recognize causality.

There's a quick jab in there I feel , but I'm happy with how Roy is being groomed and brought up. He will never be the speed demon so he needs to control the plays on his stick to maximize his skill set. He's being counted on to construct plays, in addition to having one hell of a shot.

Pace will always be his challenge, whether it's forechecking back checking or scanning the ice. Him having the opportunity to learn in a pro setting is a great way to settle the way he'll have to play going forward and forget his junior ways.

I hope they go on a tear and make the playoffs so he can live those kind of games.

Theres no quick jab, he thinks Roy sucks and hes made terrible calls on him for three years.

He doesn't even have 2 goals and 1 assist in this whole season. So how about we stop pretending the problem is that people have standards that are too high for him?

Some of us simply don't want him to be rushed like he clearly is.

Im surprised Cedrick Guindon isnt recognized as a better prospect than Roy as of now, what happened?

I hope there will be a course correction soon for Roy, cuz after firing full steam out of the gate, getting 12 points in his first 6 games, he was scoreless over the next 4 games. Thankfuly he had 2 pts in his last outing. Hope this continues.

I mean Im not sure what were expecting, Kucherov had a similar pace at the same age.

I dont expect Kucherov out of Roy, though it would be nice.

He was the best forward last night and the Canucks had a very difficult time containing him.

His skill and IQ was on display last night. He's getting there and is leaps and bounds better than he was last season.

It's going to take some time, but I think he will get there.

In the meantime, for those who aren't catastrophizers, try to ignore all the impatient habs fans who want results now or want to be right.

“This might just be a question of semantics, but it also provides a window into how St. Louis is handling Slafkovský as he navigates a start to his sophomore season where he has two points in 15 games after going his final 15 games of last season without a point. St. Louis is not focused on points with Slafkovský; he wasn’t last season, and he isn’t this season. But he is also dealing with a player to whom points define how he is playing, and for his message to go through — that the points will come if Slafkovský sticks with what he is being taught — then using the word “struggling” will naturally elicit a reaction.”

‘’Why does Slaf never shoots! It’s so bad! Why isn’t he placing himself to win board battles!!! So badddd’’

‘’Not impressed by the 7 shots! They were not pretty enough and didn’t score! Plus why does he gets hit like any other player going near the boards while battling for the puck?!?’’
