Can't argue with any of this. It's obvious they had enough money to sign either Miller or Horvat, not both.....so they decided to go with a soon-to-be 30 player on an eight year deal. Why?
I still think the owner had something to do with it. I suppose there's still a chance they could trade Miller instead of Horvat, but they'd have to keep throwing draft picks on to the pile for any team to take on that contract. The whole thing was baffling,. really.
If we are trading Bo,we better move Miller also,,I don't want this guy taking over as our number 1 center or even wearing a "c" on his jersey. There is no question about it, It was a massive mistake signing Miller to that ridiculous extension. Move him before his new deal kicks in for whatever you can get. This has all the makings of a complete dumpster fire. It's only going to get worse as each years passes.
We are on the countdown phase waiting for Francesco to realize he isn’t good at this and find someone else he can buy to provide him a quality product. Like how he failed at building a restaurant group so he bought one.I suspect that the owner influenced Canuck management to sign this contract. The reason being is that Jim Rutherford has been in the hockey business for close to 50 years. He has a proven track record of success. With that said, it seems really odd to me that Rutherford, on his own, would sign JT Miller to such a risky, ill-advised contract. It seems plausible, if not likely that the owner Aquilani, who, unlike Rutherford, is not as much a hockey expert, would interfere and nudge the management group to sign this win-now type contract.
Just a hunch I have
Idk, Boeser makes as much or almost as much as Bo should make, I don't really understand the Miller vs Bo line of reasoning. Couldn't it also be Boeser, or Mikheyev/Pearson or Garland/Pearson if we move off the free agent signing benchmark?
I wish we traded both and would still trade both.
Pretty sure Petersson will be our 1C.If we are trading Bo,we better move Miller also,,I don't want this guy taking over as our number 1 center or even wearing a "c" on his jersey.

Did they expect Miller at C to be a long term thing?Miller was supposed to be our 1. / 2. C
Boeser, Mikeheyev, Pearson and Garland are not centers.
Absolutely.Did they expect Miller at C to be a long term thing?
seems to me like he’s going about this hockey owning thing in the opposite way. he bought a successful team from some guys who delivered a quality product then turned around and said, hey i got this
but maybe there will come a time when the franchise is such a distressed asset, at least in terms of community interest, that he will get bored and cash in his $700 million or whatever and turn his attention to his fabergé egg collection.
I'm disgusted that he has an "A" whereas Schenn doesn't. Remember when we reacquired Linden and he didn't have a letter on his jersey because Bertuzzi had one instead? Ah memories...If we are trading Bo,we better move Miller also,,I don't want this guy taking over as our number 1 center or even wearing a "c" on his jersey
Tbf, he signed Jack Johnson to a 5 year deal and traded for Erik GudbransonI suspect that the owner influenced Canuck management to sign this contract. Are you being facetious? No one’s mentioned it but Canucks.com posted a video of Miller and Myers going to visit the hospital for kids. It was completely awkward and you can tell right off the bat that Miller has some character issues.
I came here to make a post about how the last game was probably JT's worst, but trash like this just makes you want to defend the guy. Lets keep it somewhat on the ice.No one’s mentioned it but Canucks.com posted a video of Miller and Myers going to visit the hospital for kids.
