What should concern management is, last year his value was at its highest. Career year, a cheaper contract, and another year(2023). Even then, it appears his value was fairly low relative to where it should be.

Now, he's signed to a long-term contract, awful 5-on-5 play, terrible attitude, and effort.

The difference was he NEVER slacked off or was a liability like Miller is. If you are setting a good example for work ethic then you get some leeway to be frustrated at those that slack off. Kesler slacked off plenty, especially when it was clear he wanted to play elsewhere. It was always about him. And some of the stuff he pulled was just so classless as to make a fan wince. Not a winner IMHO.

I think you can sell him at a non loss to a team that has trouble attracting free agents. His cost certainty is a positive to teams without our unique hilariously bad situation. It would have to be in the off-season when teams aren’t blocked so harshly by the in-season cap.

miller would have to ask out (probably publically) and the canucks would have to take bad money back in the deal. maybe swap him to nashville for mcdonagh or duchene. florida would probably add if the canucks would take bobrovsky. philadelphia for hayes or ristolainen is another potential swap
 
Like Elliotte said last night, it's not like this is the first time this has happened this has been happening since last year. His lack of hustle when a pass doesn't work out or his teammate coughs it up, he always does this lack of effort, that alone last year made me question resigning this guy, should of been traded made no sense.

These athletes are suppose to do charity things, it’s in their contract. People already forget that three years ago there was a individual that didn’t and immediately got traded. The organization itself said that if you don’t work with the community that you don’t belong in the team. The whole video you can tell by his attitude and body language that he doesn’t want to be there . The only time he cracks a smile is when it’s all done and he’s ready to go home.

Videos with character guys like Kesler, Bieksa, Luongo, Twins, Horvat and Petey, even Boeser going to hospital and you can actually see that they genuinely care . Miller on the other hand… it’s a complete different attitude. he even took a picture of himself in the video and showed it to his wife, “ look I’m doing this “ . You know they edit all the footage right ? And that’s the best they can come out with. Even Myers looked more engaged and more like a leader than him

Sometimes you look at a guy like Jarome Iginla. This guy always has a smile on his face that sometimes it doesn’t seem real but hey at least he puts in the effort. There’s a reason why he’s one of the better leaders in nhl history

I really don't see what you see. I saw Miller put in the effort with the kids.

I think Miller just isn't comfortable in front of the cameras.

Here's Miller listening to his wife talk about her mother and a charity that his wife seems to care about.

Like what a monster, he can't even look like he wants to be there listening to his wife paying tribute to his mother in law. :sarcasm:

If the Canucks want to trade Miller I think they can. If they manage to extend Horvat at the same time they can also do it in a PR-friendly way where they can simply explain that there's limited cap room and they couldn't afford to keep both. There's not going to be backlash at this point if they chose to keep "the Captain" even if giving Horvat Miller money is not a good move.

Exactly. That's what I've been saying. I don't think Miller's contract is an issue at all. A team looking to acquire him in the summer should have been willing to sign Miller to the contract we signed him to. The biggest variable is Miller's ability to play C. As a winger he's overpaid but Forsberg signed for $8.5M AAV while Gaudreau signed for $9.7M AAV. There's no guarantee that a comparable or better UFA will be available.

He may be not playing to his full potential but I’m glad we didn’t trade him for crap like Lafreniere and Kakko.

I feel he would be rejuvenated here, with his former agent being the AGM.

You don't get a nickname like Bozo without acting like one. Bozo Miller.

It's like Chandler on Friends getting the nickname "Skidmark." No explanation needed! :laugh:

He quit on the season during the bubble/canadian division year. That's when his true colors showed. He was dragging ass, smashing sticks, bench doors and the F-bombs were clear as day coming through the T.V in the empty arenas.

Now here we are. Shocker...

Lafreniere’s nickname would be loser and Kakko’s would be useless
 
Please dump him off to the Rangers for Laffy even if we have to throw in sweeteners or retain salary

Just get rid of him
 
I would move him out with a young player like Woo or Jurmo for a 2nd rounder to try to avoid salary retention. He is poison and I don't want him on this.team.
 
New JT in the way he talks about his play.

Usually found him to be accountable in seasons prior.
