How about, he can play centre and doesn't make $8M AAV, That work? I cannot fathom for the life of me, someone proposing we gut our centre depth for any reason outside of an outright rebuild.
But if the rumors are true and his AAV number starts with an 8?

If JT can keep his D-zone gaffes down, then I don't care too much about other giveaways. Someone somewhere compared him to Brett Favre, and I thought that was perfect. He's a gun slinger. Yea, he's gonna throw some picks, but my god, what an arm!

He has a gear that our other forwards just don't, outside of maybe a month here, series there.

Its why people saying before its only just a little over payment, or that is the price of a good 4c that wins face offs! were so wrong. This has been the death by a thousand paper cuts and turned it this;

I'm sure you remember but yeah a large contingent here from 2014-17 lamented this and were rebuffed. Cap doesn't matter in a rebuild, we can move the contracts, etc. I think a lot of those people who were critical of some being critical expected a lot of our Stukels, Brisebois', Zhukenovs to hit when there were indicators that simply wasn't going to happen.

The decision has basically already been made it appears, so this is all more so talking about the mistakes made to date, and how they’ll be rectified.

It sounds like they want a defender for Horvat, so you’ll have to find another way to address centre. I’m guessing Miller moves back in the interim and they try to address it in the summer.

I am just trying to put together what we have heard, and what I think is trustworthy, or makes sense. I think we tried myers at some point between now and next season, and replace him with Livingstone who was the top NCAA college UFA last year and that apparently we have an inside track for. Think this then opens us up to add a centre in a Horvat deal.

I do agree though that I think there is just a lot of moving parts, and one move probably helps another move.

He wants 7+.. you are making it sound like he is willing to resign at his current rate.

You know, Lovecraft was right. We humans are happy because we view reality behind the veil of our limited senses. If we pierce through the veil and see things the way they truly are, most of us will become irreversibly insane in an instant
Not hockey related but Im getting flashbacks from playing bloodborne.
That game freaked me the f*** out but was the best overall game I had ever played.
Also made me very interested from reading H.P. Lovecrafts works.
He maybe an ass but god damn he was way ahead of his time.

Horvat providing significant amount of other attributes is like the biggest overstatement or exaggeration on what Bo provides.

Is he good defensively? No
Is he a good pker? No
Is he a good playmaker that elevates his linemates? No
Sadly he’s a somewhat one dimensional second line center and he’s looking for 7+M and he’s a huge risk to drop off when he starts to slow down. We’ve seen what happens to Bo when his skating is off.
I thought you were talking about Miller until the 7+M came up.

This is the case for pretty much every person that lived ~100 years ago when looked through the lense of modern day ethics.

Hugh Hefner was seen as a womens and PoC rights advocate in his early years. Now he is rememberd as one of THE objectifiers of women in modern USA.

Oh dont worry I know times were way different than what we are experiencing now.
I aint one of those "woke" people or whatever the heck they call themselves.

There is something anonymous about Horvats game. I wonder if this is part of the reason why the team hasn't had very much success with him. He pads his personal stats. But makes nobody around him better.

As far as Millers deal goes. Yes its too much. But look what J. Huberdeau and J.Gudreau got. 10 million + and Miller is outscoring both of them.

Rutherford couldn't get enough "win now" assets for him so he had to keep him. Because you know, we are trying to win a cup this year.

So we are stuck paying almost whatever Horvat wants ? There's gotta be another Nick Bonino floating around somewhere. The team needs a shakeup anyway.

It doesn't have to be a rebuild. Just dipping into one more deep draft doesn't have to be a rebuild.

Miller might not be a 100 point player but he’s certainly a PPG player. Feel like he’s getting a bit undersold right now because of his struggles defensively right now.

The data is flawed. Is Demko the worst starting goalie in the NHL going forward? " Crying" are you 12 or something? Do better or you can just continue to make your argument look bad.
To he fair he's been poor to start this year but he's coming out of it. I'll never consider him a selke guy but not many top15 scorers are.
Not only that Miller is better suited to the wing and with Horvat and Pettersson we can accommodate that.
I watch almost every Canuck game and plenty of others.

JT at center doesnt have a clue defensively, shouldnt be anywhere near the PK and does not make his line mates better.
Yes to the 1st 2 points but you don’t get to 99 points or stay PPG without making your linmates better.
I don’t even know what is the point you are trying to make. Are you trying to argue Bo is a better player? Bo and JT are both at best passable defensively, both sucks at the PK and the difference is JT scores more and that’s why he makes more.

Who has he made better playing center? MS said Pearson... I don't know what to say to that.

The PP, he is good, but the entire PP is designed around feeding him.

That kinda sounds like the scouting report for horvat at centre…

Oh. Bo is far better defensively.
JT this year is unplayable as a 5on5 center.

Miller was the engine of the Lotto line,

Made everyone look better last year, as without him, no one cracks 60p. Would be a historically bad offensive season.

Boeser was pretty bad, but had 23g in 71 games largely due to JT on the PP. Horvat & JT have great chem together, and Bo could have a career high.

Miller is the teams best goal scorer & best playmaker, Of course he boosts his line mates, even at times where they are playing better.

Bo is better at center but that doesn’t make Bo the better player.

Like I said, I have no idea what your point is.
