I remember During the preseason he got hit on the boards and looked a bit stunned on what didn’t look like much. I wonder if he felt instability in the shoulder. Face-offs put some weird torques on the shoulder joint and will expose the defects In the shoulder capsule. Like others, I’m guessing he’s going to need surgery but who knows. If it’s an aggravation of an AC injury that’s a different story. AC joint is part of the shoulder girdle but it’s not part of the actual shoulder joint.

Norris is gone for next 4-6 months minimum. Likely will shut him down entire season to ensure all measures are fully covered for a full recovery and restart next season. Can't risk bringing him back sooner than expected after that arm's been through work in the past as well.

Could see playoff appearance.

Still in shock we actually gave him a 8mill dollar contract. Talk about about jumping the gun there

We learnt nothing from Colin White's contract lol

Where did the 4-6 months period come from? Source?

I'm no expert on shoulder injuries; however, I have had a bimalleolar fracture of the ankle that took a few screws, plate and pins to fix:

Looking likely long term for sure but lets not pretend to be doctors. We don't know the results of the MRI, we don't know what the team doctors know. We should find out soon tho.

The team will move mountains to make sure Sanderson will not become a cap causality, by the time Sanderson comes up. Cap will go up +5M plus Bobby, Zaitsev, and Murray will be off the books +8M
Go look at Dobson's contract. It's gonna be okay.

Speak for yourself.

I will continue to pretend to be a doctor.

Yea I was actually liking Norris' game before he went down to injury. I know fans have a knack for thinking of him as a pure goal scorer but if you hear ex-players (Alfie, Jamie Baker, amongst others) talk, they often single out Josh for how he plays away from the puck. He is an extremely reliable two-way C who I believe was logging the heaviest minutes for Ottawa forwards before he went down. He was also getting a bunch of great scoring chances. He just knows where's to be.

That being said, I too am still scared about the upcoming contracts of a few guys but I'm happy to have Norris.

I'm not 100% aware of the Sens upcoming cap situation but if the difference between having Sandy/Pinto/Zub all on contracts vs. a massive 9M+ contract for DeBrincat, give me those three guys all day. (No disrespect to Cat who is an incredible player in his own right but I'd rather pay the more critical positions as opposed to a scoring winger)

Norris was out best faceoff guy before his injury. We will miss that.

As I mentioned earlier, the cap casualty on this team will be DeBrincat. I think that the 9M+ that will be needed to sign him will be used to sign Pinto, Zub and eventually Sanderson. Not to mention we don't have a second goalie next year. Unless they think Soogard or Mando are ready for the NHL.

DeBrincat is an RFA and with the right trade he could be exchanged for a top 4dman
