Should’ve traded him when he had value.

I don't think his current slump has any effect on his value.

He is more of a role player and a known commodity throughout the league, if ever there was a real demand for him, i would think not much would have changed?

Agree to trade him tho.

Not sure any GM in a cap era wants that contract.

Hmmmm, with the cap set to rise 4M next year and BJA will then have 3yrs at 5.5M aav.

I don't think its impossible there is a demand for him.

GM do value size, speed and physicality. To the point i even wonder if Habs really want to trade him. Especially since he seems to be a leader.

Seems to be off this year, or just off to a slow start. Some locker room leadership might be needed in general. All the older guys are injured or on IR. The club just doesn't seem to enjoy playing the game right now its like mass chaos the last couple of games.

Looks like the advanced stats match the eye test. He’s an anchor.

It definitely match the eyes test. Even in the "best" game of the season against Vegas he was god damn awful. He's a chicken without a head. Zero hockey IQ. It would be fine if he would rush the net and kill everything in his path but more often than not he looks half asleep. He is aging exactly like i predicted when we got him so for me it's not a surprise at all. At this point i think i would ship him for a 2nd round pick if we don't have to retain as in a "get out of jail free" card. If he finds his groove with another team good for him but i would not take the chance to be stuck with this contract moving forward. Josh Anderson for Tyler Bertuzzi? XD

WoW , this is f—-ing bad .
I am one of his biggest defenders and fans , but this year I can’t open my mouth to defend him
same I really thought he could be deployed in a way that would make him contribute while still being a little overpaid, but now its definitely gotten past the acceptable. Scratching him for Pezz or Ylo would be a great message

100 pct agree . Though all I saw just reinforce my thinking of how good Dach is and can become , as everyone with him looked so good

Great post. Also 100% confirms what us Slaf advocates/supporters have been saying all along, and Slaf himself. Anderson has always been an enigma. But come playoff time, he seems to elevate his play and can turn-on beast-mode. But that doesn't help much if he's one of the reasons we don't get there, lol. Once we fill out our wings with younger, skilled players. He'll fill the 3rd line winger role PERFECTLY and effectively, IMO.

I refuse to believe that Kent Hughes had the occasion to trade Anderson, but kept him... :help:

Please tell me it was a lie, with his contract, just getting rid of him, is a plus... Mr. Clean may have been too greedy. :help:
Considering the state of the league team caps the last 2 years, an Anderson trade was going to bring back a similar contract as a cap dump (probably shorter in terms).

That s funny how 11 games change the rhetoric, the number of people saying Anderson size and speed are worth keeping him has dramatically reduced…

Huge fan, but he needs to play way better.

I get the whole you're established and don't need to fight anybody anytime, but you gotta actually play with some actual piss and vinegar.

He is absolutely destroying his trade value
This is the worst case scenario right now..

He really does have to go too..
Hopefully some GM is still enamored with his speed and size and playoffs plays from a few years ago. A GM who's not watching the Habs too closely right now. A GM desperate to trade for him before the deadline...because otherwise it's next off-season and that might be too late and will cost the Habs.

MSL wants players that can think the game at a high level, make smart reads, evaluate current state and make things happen based on many variables. Play positionless etc...

Anderson has shown that he can be effective in simpler N-S. Under DD he was okay, with some great flashes from time to time.

I think Andy is just completely lost in MSL's system, and other GMs will recognize that. He still brings some attributes that are hard to find: big, strong, fast, and can be clutch in streaks.
