I’ve always defended this guy but man, I dunno what to say…
Me too, but he has had a ton of chances, and can't score....................gets the best TOI with Suzuki and nothing......................he and Gally can go to the 4th line, and let Ylonen slide up into the top 6 or top 9 easily.
Time to call a spade, a spade. The Power Horse, has become The Power Donkey for sure.

It really does seem like Kent Hughes will stand by his former clients no matter how they play. You don't need to say anything, just stick around and enjoy the Foxhole 2.0.
Anderson, was a former client?? Did not realize........

All those players may be useful if deployed properly but if they are going to be used on lines they aren't talented enough for that is a problem. As is retaining them if they are no longer a fit anywhere on the team.

It's not the posters think that he is worth a whole lot. It's that it is very likely there are GM's that still think he is.
So long as you’ll have teams continuing to hire and recycle crusty GMs who value truculence and size, there will continue to be interest for him.

Also has blazing speed and has a game suited to the playoffs, which are other non-negligible selling points as the number of years left on his deal become less burdensome.

OK, he has the IQ of a turnip but so what, he can fight and get physical every dozen games or so — what’s not to like? :sarcasm:

Your diligent work will be the downfall of the current management group of the Montreal Canadiens.

He's also worth 1/10 of his current contract. We couldn't give him away if we tried lol.

Same lol

He has become a HUGE problem for our line up now..

Gallagher we were able to stash on the 3rd line, we live with it
Armia we are now sending the AHL at will, hopefully something gets done there trade/buyout wise
And Ylonen has emerged as a decent player who can't lock a spot because.....
Anderson 'exists'..

Why they are obsessed with giving him PP1 minutes is something I will never truly understand... but he officially has to 'go' now
Clogging up a normal line up spot by being unable to gel with anybody, and it'd be nice to stash HIM on the 3rd line but we can't because of Gallagher
And also clogging up PP1 instead of giving someone younger a shot is just unacceptable at this juncture really..

Hughes needs to grow a pair and tell his coach that Anderson can go to the 3rd line and Gallagher to the 4th and Pearson to the press box. These are 3 guys that Hughes would trade if he could, but can't due to NMC or NWC (nobody wants clause). Fewest regulation wins in the league and 3-6-1 in their last 10 are all signs of a bottom 5 finish and this team is trying to eek out wins overplaying guys well past their prime.

He can’t gel with anybody because he has zero hockey IQ or playmaking ability. He needs somebody to carry the line so he can drive in with speed to the net. He contributes nothing else and he’s totally gunshy right now.

I remember hearing the flames had interest last year and really was shocked Montreal didn’t take literally anything to unload him. I’ve been one of the biggest critics of the signing since day 1, signing a guy coming off one good season and the most recent an awful one where he got hurt.

His game will not age well either. He’s basically big, strong and fast but void of any skill and a bandaid. They’re stuck with him for eternity though.

We have reached the *Shooting pucks by himself* stage of the drought.

You can do it Andy ~~~

With RHP out, I'd just be happy with Pearson on the 4th line and Ylonen in the top 9.

I 'd also like to see Dvo and Monahan swaped lines. Other than that, I'm ok with MSL's player usage.

I know he makes millions to play a game but I feel for this guy, he has to be feeling like crap right now. I hope he gets it going
He got married this past summer.

I’m sure his spouse is helping him overcome this with timeless reassurances like “don’t worry hun, it’s just a game, not real life.”

Lol. He was already starting to lift his stick to celebrate after that shot from the left side....
..and then was left standing like a statue form some 4-5 secs.

At least if Anderson played tough hit lots and fought some to give the team that edge they need
But he's trying be a st Louis LoL

I really think...............once he gets one, the gates will open for him, and we trade him this upcoming off season....

Obvious fact: Anderson is overpaid, but...
He is a big forward (needed on the Habs), good skater, not afraid in the corners, fearlessly attacks the center of the ice and does not sulk. Montreal would be selling very low if they tried to trade him now and probably have to absorb part of his salary.
At the time, it might be best if they ride it out with him and hope his stats improve. Third or fourth line may relieve some pressure and simplify his game.

I think it starts and ends with Anderson not playing as physical as he could be cause he is afraid of being injured. This happens a lot with players at a certain age, guys who used to be know as physical, where they stop doing what brought them into the dance cause they want to keep playing. But the only reason coaches would play them would be cause they are physical. And they don't want to do that anymore. So their usefulness is gone. When was the last time Anderson has stood up for somebody, when was the last time he dropped the gloves?
