i wanna see this Drouin :help:

Seems like majority of his goals came from the right wing/ his off side… maybe if this team wasn’t so « right handed right wingers heavy » we could try thay … let’s hope MSL realized that when Drouin was in TB

No way, does Drouin hit it out of the park, 9-10 years into his NHL career.....he would have already done it....take the odds on getting hit by lightning.

The guy is a Teflon dung — he can literally do no wrong with some people. He’s entitled to unlimited fresh starts, there’s always some triggering thing that should afford him a new opportunity. Why not reserve that kind of benefit of the doubt for players who actually put in effort and are not afraid to sacrifice themselves for the good of the team.

The MSL effect

if that doesn’t change Drouin, nothing will

but, am i the only one that is really confident that MSL will turn him into a elite point producer?

Man.. doesn't look like the same player at all, he was so dynamic, his shot was solid, wtf happened to his guy? When I watch these highlights, I understand why MB gave Sergachev away for him.

I'm still hoping that MSL can get through to him because it's a damn shame, he's squandered his talent and he's playing himself out of the league. If the Habs release him at the end of his contract or trade him could you see another team giving him a chance? I can't, he's been shopped around the league and no one wants him.

Don't think it's happening. He played for for Copper who is a very good coach with young players. And while i'm not a fan of Bouboule Julien he is a good coach. Drouin simply doesn't have what it takes. He might have a career year or two if we are lucky but the guy wont late bloom.

Regarding his latest "injury" was there any talk of it when it happened? I am here as much as anyone and I can't remember any talk of a new wrist injury unless I missed it. He just seems to leave the team randomly whenever he wants to, it's odd to say the least.

Until I hear solid evidence otherwise, I'll take the reports that it's a wrist injury as acurate.

Having said that, I don't think it's weird for someone who's sucking really bad at their job, and constantly hearing about it from a lot of people, to go through dark mental times. It seems likely he'll find a different league to play in within the next few years where he can shine. I doubt he ever turns it around in the NHL. But I'll still be watching to see how MSL handles him.

One interesting thing about MSL is that he would strike me as a demanding person, yet so far he's extremely positive towards his players. Will be interesting to see if he keeps that attitude long term, through thick and thin.

Why would a guy who played a decade making so many millions bother playing in another league? It’s like none of us understand how much money these guys earn for going to the gym. Make babies, go golfing, spend your 30’s and beyond enjoying the insanely privileged life. He’s on a 33 million dolar GARANTEED CONTRACT, try hard, score, have success… Or don’t even play at all. Why do we assume he should care about performing… like at all? I sure wouldn’t.

Usually, with every player injury(there have been many this year) we get an update from the team(@Adam Michaels ) when it happens or the day after. Then we see tweets from various members of the French and English media about the injury and when it occurred. I don't remember seeing anything about JD getting injured. He was out of the lineup and a while later there was talk of a wrist injury. Forgive me if I missed it and as I said, I am here as much as anyone and I rarely miss stuff but maybe I did this time.

MB should have been fired for that contract and the horrible trade that brought him here. He should have been given a 2-year deal max based on his history. He has performed when he felt like it, much like Armia is doing this season. One-two good games and 10 no shows.

I don't know how players that are on big-money contracts can take nights/weeks off only to look across the room at a guy like Laurent Dauphin who is working his guts out just to stay in the league on a minimum contract and be okay with their lazy ass ways on the ice.

I only remember media personalities saying they hear it's his wrists. So maybe they're more rumors than reports.

Trying to trade him would cost more than it would help, after next season he is gone, c'est la vie. Armia is the guy I would push, maybe Pezzetta could replace him?

I don't know but we are better team without him in the line up. Maybe Bergevin forces DD to play Drouin.

This........................would explain why they have more success without him in the lineup, than having him in the lineup.
A while back it was pointed out, that Drouin had NOT scored on the PP in a 2 year period, and yet over the boards under Dom to play on the PP. Meanwhile on the bench are guys who are giving their all, and the Prince gets the plum PP time.............this is a huge no no in TEAM sports.
