Well one Philly is in the East. That probably has a large impact.

The Wild are going to have to offer a huge package.

Read is more proven than Zucker, A-Mart is worth about a 2nd.

If I am Lombardi I am asking the Wild for one hell of a package for trading Johnny B out West.

Zucker is 21 though. Read is 27, I think. Some Wild fan thinks Zucker 50 goal potential...while that is a little out there; how many prospects have 50 goal potential? Um, zero...he has speed and
can score. I saw him at DU, as I go there a few times a year and have seen Nick Shore several times. Zucker looked pretty awesome and has done well in the AHL and put up a couple pts in round 1 of the playoffs for the Wild.

Toronto has no reason to acquire Johnny B. The NYI are not going to trade Martin.

Matt Martin is not happening folks PERIOD.

Reimer's weaknesses are pretty glaring so there is definitely reason. The talk here for so much of the year was to acquire Luongo, so management also wasn't sold on him. Scrivens isn't that good, either.

Toronto has a good reason to interested in Bernier.

I'm not sold on read because he's 27, and a flyers product. I'm hesitant taking a small winger on a run and gun system.

Matt Read is not some system Winger, He is one hell of a Hockey player.

Hey, if he ends up in the deal I hope he proves me wrong, but we've seen so many guys go to Philly and their numbers explode (Simmonds, Talbot) and numerous guys leave and they decrease (Richards).

He can also walk away next summer

Why would he ? Cup contending team, he will be a top six player, playing with Richards/Carter or Kopitar/Williams.....

Why the hell would you walk away from that. The Kings will have enough Cap space next season to pay him accordingly.

So it's not like they would low ball him .

He will be looking for a big payday. He is a late bloomer and has only been an NHLer for 2 years, he will want to make bigger bucks and the Kings might not be able to afford him.

He's going to be looking for big bucks, that is the time for him to cash in

The Cap will go back up after next season, the Kings will have sufficient Cap space to offer him a comparable contract. Unless someone offers him something ridiculous like 6 Million, which most likely won't happen.

Unless Read scores like 40 Goals....

Define Big Bucks......Crosby money ?

Cause if it's 4-5 mill. The Kings will pay that. With the Cap going up.

Yes, 4-5 million. Brown will probably be about 2 million more than he is now, and Greene will get a small raise as well. Those two and having a little wiggle room is where the cap increase will need to go

If Lombardi trades for Read, I am sure he has a plan for the Cap.

Can't believe people are against bringing in a Proven winger cause of Cap space .....

Aren't all of you tired of the constant revolving door at LW ?

Now everyone wants to plant some Rookie there and hope for the best.

I am tired of that crap, Bring in a guy that will make an impact.

Do you still pay him 4-5 if he scores 20 goals? How about if he gets injured half the season? His contract status concerns me a bit.

So we should never sign anyone, or bring up anyone based off that thought process.

They could get injured, they burn a year off the contract ETC..

If he scores 20G, he probably wouldn't command that much on the open market.

I don't believe his impact directly translates over to the Kings system, he's undersized, and his contract stats is a concern. When you add it all up, it's too big of a risk

Its a valid concern for a guy one year away from ufa status if your giving up an asset like bernier. Why risk it if there are other similar offers for assets you have control of longer?
