Alan Mitchell (Lowetide) of the Athletic wrote it is possible that Boston and Edmonton could be trading partners, and one name that won't go away is Brad Marchand. He cautioned Oiler to fans to take that with a grain of salt, but still.

Hard to imagine the Oilers managing to pull that off.

Marchand is a rental, money really wouldn't be an issue. Retention, retention with multiple teams, and/or Boston takes a contract back.
Money would be a massive issue because even at 50% he’s over 3 mil and Edmonton simply doesn’t have the pieces to get Brad and get someone to take half his salary. Team already has depth issue so not sure who they can afford to remove from the active roster as a contract.

He is pretty much the version of Lucic Edmonton got at this point of his career..
Not sure about drooling but would certainly be interesting.

He has 42 points in 53 games, is still effective defensively, and is still a pitbull when it comes to hunting the puck and winning battles. Is he the star he once was? No, not at all but him right now would probably rival Lucic's best career years.

that was quite an awful comparison. This would be a great add for the oilers. Hateable yes but exactly what they need

I clicked like but I he's far from a priority for me...

2RD

a goalie to push Stu

Marchand or any forward really.

I'm legit happy with Kane in bottom 4, Ryan alternating and maybe even calling up Savoie and giving him a look. Forwards are not an Oilers issue. Not saying they are perfect forwards but 2RD and another goalie are so much higher for me personally.

Can’t see Boston doing that only being 1 point out of a wild card spot. But that sure would be interesting.
Owner is getting up there in years, if they’re in the mix I doubt they trade Marchand for picks that might start making an impact around 2030
